Thank you everyone for sharing, will let him continue withTLL and decide later if he should stop.

Sorry, I'm rather new to GEP, may I ask what is TLL ? -

Mine same like your's, neighborhood school w no tuition or enrichment. Is it necessary ? I hv seen earlier post, so many go for Learning Hub, etc. Is it necessary ? My DS ok with his work except for English.Hi all! My son just got the yellow envelope on Friday.
We have not sent him for any enrichment or tuition classes before. Is it neccessary for us to do so now that he insert in GEP? Will this add too much pressure on them as the GEP is seemingly challenging in workload?
Which schools are your kids in and how did they cope with the change to a new school/ culture?
My DS is from a neighborhood primary school. DH and I placed him there as it is nearby our place. Now he is keen on ACS...
How are the school fees like btw? Is there a huge jump in fees that have to be paid - misc fees, Sch fees etc? -

The reason I asked was cos DS only wants NYPS but we need to put in 3 choices mah.. I not sure abt the other 3 I asked abt...
For us, very simple. Whatever my DS chose, he is the one studying not me. Good or bad, he will have to learn how to overcome it. So far, he is happy with his choice & he is happy, we r happy too.drickymummy:
Hi parents,
May I know how you determine which GEP sch to go to? What are the strong factors that affects your choice?
I would love some insights on the following schools:
1) NYPS
2) NHPS
3) HHPS
4) ACS
I would really appreciate your greatest advice before we make the important choice..Thank you!!

oh! We only put in one choice.

I believe the briefing is tomorrow. My son is in P4 GEP this year (his 1st year). Truely a great experience for the kid and parents.
In terms of school of choice, personally, I feel all are equal as they take the same exam papers in all GEP school. Exposure are also similar. This will be explained during the parent briefing session.
I feel that distance is important and GEP tend to have more homework and project work. So, time is an essence. If the school is too far, the kids will be so tired after lessons. -
Pros of HPPS-
BIG field (next year at holding site)
Good teachers
Discipline rules
Location suitable for people around Bukit Timah
Organised Bus Services
Cons-
No shirt pocket (uniform)
P5 GEP Buddies next year (like me) cannot guide too well (due to HPPS moving to Mt. Sinai temporarily)
For Teachers Workspace too small (next year)
And I know it very well because I am a P4 HPPS GEP student this year. -
This is what I chose for my three choices last year (i’m a student)
1. NYPS
2.NHPS
3. HPPS
And I got HPPS.
But if:
1. NHPS
2.NYPS
3. HPPS
You’ll probably get NHPS. -

You'll go to the school nearest your home that has vacancies.
