There is a SS prelim on Aug 14. What is it for? :?

Think it is the last GEP exam the pupils need to take. It is important that they pass the overall SS exam. Having said that, I have never heard of any P6 students failing the SS paper.

Hmm, why is it called prelim?

Perhaps they didn't want parents to take it too lightly

Any idea what is the percentage of the GE pupils who fail to get into the IP schools each year?

If I remember correctly, the statistics that principal shown us, 30% didn't receive any DSA offer. Statistics only referring to dd's school.

Just curious, if they don't get a DSA offer, does it mean they didn't get into the IP school via their PSLE score as well?

30% is a lot. When MOE GE department came to give a talk to the parents last year, they showed us the past 3-5 years' DSA stats. It's in the mid to high 80s. So in essence, 8-9 out of every 10 GE kids will get a CO before PSLE.

That's true. That's why many of them went over to RI. 🙂

If it's not Important, parents might ask their kids to concentrate on PSLE subjects instead of studying for SS.
