Hi, today is the P6 gep social studies prelim. I was told that besides a pass/fail, the kids will also be graded as distinction / merit / pass. Does anyone know the cut-off or range of marks for each grade? TIA!

Hi clover18, I believe it will be like the grading for HCL:-
      Distinction - 80-100
      Merit - 65-79
      Pass - 50-64

Hi all, just like to share this slide in case u r not informed of the the GEP Promotion Criteria.

        http://i41.tinypic.com/30m943o.jpg\">

It states here that the passing mark for Social Studies is 50%, not the usual 70% that I thought earlier. And P6 GEP, Singaporean students will be awarded EESIS, only if they:

        1) meet the P6 GEP promotion criteria ( which include meeting a T-Score of 250 & above ), and
        2) are enrolled in the IP in an Independent School.

There are known cases of lower score still getting the award...and AFAIK, 250 is not stated in MOE website.

Nope, it’s a few years back. Perhaps they trust that the dsa schools have down their due diligent assessment when they granted the dsa.

That explains it. The 250 criteria was introduced last year.

Hmmm…but they seemed to be still quiet abt 250 in their website. Wonder why…
