Verysuperkiasu:
Hi verysuperkiasu,
That's great!ngbrdad:
We came up with the idea ourselves.
They had a get together for parents at end of orientation week. When compiling the contact number/email for parents, someone came up with the idea of a facebook group, which is more convenient and probably a better way of communication compared to mass emails.
ACSI parents very 'on' leh. Wish I can do the same at my ds's school.
Maybe next time you go to RI for events, you can get in touch with your DS's classmates' parents and start a facebook group or exchange email/contact details too.
Anyone in the same class as your DS in KSP?
DD is in the same class as Funx3's & hipomum's DDs so we also email one another to keep ourselves updated on the class activities.

MummySTay:
Hi MummySTay,
$65 is rather steep!ngbrdad:
Talking about locker rental, ACSI charges $65 per year with a combination lock provided. Thought that is on the high side.
What are the charges at other schools ?
DD has been allocated her locker and has started using it as well.
So far, DD has not asked for any money for the rental.
Will update when I have the info.
RGS charges $15/year for rental of locker and $8 to buy a locker padlock.
This will form part of the 'supplementary fee & other fee' payment, to be deducted by Giro on the 15 Feb.

My dd's time was free!
Haha....DD bought 1 tie during Orientation but she forget her tie last week for assembly so she had to buy another tie from the prefectorial Board. Now....she has 2 ties. Hopefully, her tie collection won't grow by year end...keke
That means your tie and badge are not free, since you actually paid for them.MummySTay:
Paiseh just checked the invoice again, the locker rental and pad lock was $45 not $65. On top of that paid $55 for the discovery camp and $30 for the orientation package (got free tie, badge etc though)
Did other schools charge for Orientation camp too?
We also had to pay for the tie this year when it used to be provided free. -

Just leave one tie permanently in the school bag. She'll never forget it. It'll look a bit giam chye but better giam chye than a whole collection right?

That's what my son has been doing since he was in primary school, even till now. He only puts on the tie when he reaches his school and takes it out before leaving the school and puts it immediately into his bag. That way, he'll not risk forgetting his tie.
