My boy is at LSH at tampines junction. He is happy there and he likes the teachers. And in general I have no major complains so far. They did have a round of hfmd 2 or 3 weeks ago, and there’s a case again yesterday. But they didn’t shut down school for 2 weeks, it’s just that parents and caregivers were not allowed in. Had to pick up and drop off at the door, which we are ok with. And they were pretty prompt and conscientious about the hfmd communications, for which I’m glad. My boy has been through a few cc because we shifted house, and I moved from ftwm to sahm and back again. In comparison, I find that LSH has a pretty strong curriculum. Downside is that they have relatively high kids to teacher ratio bec they stick to mcys ratios.

Hi thank you for your input.

I have the same finding as you.
Teacher children ratio is higher than my expectation, given the fact that their charges are above the average.

I was told that majority of their teachers are at least diploma holders.

I hope to know any mummy whose child is with little skool house at AMK hub.

        Thank you.

Amazingly, they finally called me, it was because i wrote in a complaint email via their website.

A naggy admin person called & explained to me, the lady who told me of the vacancy was for the whole school, not for my son's age group / playground. I replied her, Of cos i did mentioned that i want to put my son in the playground of his age. I m not an investor or a govt body, your school have how many vacancies, i not interested to know, I want to know if u have a spot for my son, If u cannot answer even a simple question of Yes or No, I wont put my son there.
(Please pardon my anger, there is no longer frustration)

I was asked many times over the phone, when i go over, when i called, when i say i want to leave my son there. I told the person, \"can't you check your records? I do not need to keep track for you\"
I even asked her, what date is today?
She mentioned 25th, i said i was supposed to make payment on the 21st,
How come no news from the centre?

Last but not least : Do u still want to put your child in our centre?
Me : is there any vacancy?
She : we do not have now, it will be 2012.
Me : Then u ask me for what?

2 days later, i got an apology letter via email from the VP, Wonderful. How nice.

          Ribeauville:
          LSH Mountbatten
My child was immediately confirmed to start in 2012 without being on wait list. Hence I wanted to make deposit to secure the place which their VP has yet to call me. I was thinking that VP could be busy with school activities, but knowing from Popred, our situation is exactly the same. I will still wait for VP's reply to determine her efficiency. In the meantime, I will source for other cc

Nevertheless I'm curious to know how do the existing kids who currently in MB perform. The school compound seems clean n conducive to learn, what about the teachers?

              Hi Claudine,

I feel the same way about the LSH, like running some sneaky business.
My son is good at the Cherie hearts, Having alot of fun, still v mischevious, i guessed this has nothing to do with school. So far so good. I may consider changing again as i will be leaving my job n will see how first cos it will be v out-of-the-way to have him in Mountbatten if i m no longer working there.....

              Claudine Heng:
Hi Hi, i called LSH Mountbatten in October to ask to view the school as i was thinking of putting my son there after CNY 2012. The receptionist told me there was no teacher around to explain anything to me, and can only view the school on a saturday in early Nov.

I got no choice but to wait, and 2 saturdays ago, i finally went down to visit. These are my findings:
              1. VP was too busy to entertain us, even when she is in the room,. Ie friendliness = zero
              2. A pretty nice friendly teacher was there to explain to me, even showed me the curriculum. I like it that the toddler class is separate from the bigger kids.
              3. Then just before we left the school, there was this cleaning auntie who pushes a trolley full of rubbish, went through the whole area (Where the kids play and within the school), all the way outside to the main road, and push it back in again.
              4. Lastly, Teacher that handled me the curriculum paper, actually request to take it back from me.

I just feel that this school does not have transparency, and the cleanliness is not very strict. M still considering if i shld put my boy there.

Hi Porped, how old is your son? Is Cheri Hearts good?

Sorry to side track here, but i will just like to share something with all parents, especially parents with children at Little Skool House at-the-park (@Pearl Bank). I give lessons at my place at pearl bank, used to be teaching in music schools, but have since got married and moved into pearl bank. I will like very much to teach kids piano (they will need to be about 3.5 years old to start). And since Little Skool House at-the-park is just below my place, I thought it will be convienient for parents and their kids to come over and learn piano, and hence I thought of sharing it here!

If anyone’s interested, could always go over to my profile page under music (Felicia Lee). Thank you!

                    Hi,

I’m a first time user of kiasuparents. I may be considering putting my child in LSH @ Mountbatten Square in their N2 class. Would be great to have comments/info from parents regarding the school eg the teachers, the curriculum, the environment etc.

                    1) Are the teachers caring, friendly and well-trained?

                    2) Is the curriculum all-rounded and play-based? Is it bi-lingual? How is the Mandarin programme?

                    3) Clean environment?

Any comments & feedback would be great. Thanks

Apparently, LSH in Amk hub hold pre-natal courses after the school has close for the day. Not too sure if the "Mattress" that the Pregnant mothers sit on are the same mattresses that LSH kids sleep on them on a daily basis…I have a friend who has even complained the pillow given to mothers to rest and do exercise dirty, I wonder what are the hygiene standards too.
