How much time is reasonable for a teacher to response to email? Can teacher actually say h/she didn't read the email after 3weeks, even cc to the P, P don't read too :? . By the way, if email is sent to F.T and cc. To P, one can only expect the F.T to reply and not the P rite? The cc. Person is just fyi?

What was the email about? If the matter is urgent, why don't you give them a call, instead of wait passively for a reply? :? They could've overlooked your email. -
teachers’ main job is to teach in class, and mark assignments & test papers at home / school. they are not like office workers who glue their eyes to the computer 9 to 6, and they don’t have their own personal computers at work in school
if the matter is urgent, there is a phone to use; still you may not be able to get the teacher anytime you like because the teachers could be in class, in meeting, discussion with other teachers / principal about work etc etc
so, be reasonable in our demand on teachers to reply email / pick up phone calls.
and teachers also have family and a life to live -
Yes…that’s why i ask what is a reasonbly time range? And why do school ask parents should you have any queries, pls do email to the teachers, where they don’t read emails?

I tend to agree with nani… We receive a letter from the Form Teacher informing us her email and her phone number at the start of the year. I have never once succeeded at reaching her at her phone number. She goes home the moment school is out (unless she has meetings), so you can’t get her even if you drop by after school. She takes at least 3 weeks to respond to emails… and even then, it is after a few emails. The last time I spoke to her on the phone, it was after 3 emails… plus 2 messages with the General Office for her to call me back.
She is busy. I am busy too. Why should I waste so much time trying to reach her?
One might as well say that Teachers are hired to teach and mark, so they have no time to talk to parents. In truth, they are hired to run CCAs, and write audit reports, fill out forms, do lesson plans (that they may not ACTUALLY implement). Teachers are glorified admin clerks, at least in mainstream. GEP teachers report directly to GEP branch. They have smaller classes too.
Why would they have the morale to respond to parents?
Now, in case I be accused of abusing her (and therefore give her good reason to avoid me), that is not the case. This teacher likes me enough to confide in me her worries for her son. When I do get her on the phone, we have a good chat. Lately, she has been more forthcoming, maybe because she has warmed up to me. It took 1 whole year of flattery and grovelling on my part to get her warmed up. -
You also say it's after school liao...
Perhaps teachers have too many KPIs... And replying emails of parents is not one of the KPIs.... :siam:
It's not like a help desk or customer service centre, which we are all familiar with.
But then again... We always talk about customer service standards in SG...
