Could DD have meant Geometry? :scratchhead:

Suffice to say, she said it was something not taught before.

Can anyone confirm if a child missed the screening test, is she/he able to take it at a later date? :?

Just curious. Were the GEP qns posted earlier removed by the person who posted them or removed/moved by the moderator to another thread?

Temporarily removed by mod because someone claimed that there is a re-test date for those who missed the test. Can anyone confirm?

Guess those who did not manage to complete the papers would not get a chance to be selected for the selection test since for gifted child, the paper should be considered easy and able to complete on time. πŸ™‚

That is not true. There were children who did not manage to complete the papers in both round 1 & 2 but still selected for GEP.

                  not necessarily.

From previous yrs’ screening/selection, many still get the call for selection even though they could not finish the papers. Some even cried after the screening. That’s the kind of stress they r facing these days!!

As for whether there is a re-test, I’m not sure. But I understand that some did call MOE coz could not attend the orig test, most prob MC. But not sure if they were given another or even went for the re-test if there were one.

Not true, DD (now in Sec 1) didnt finish Math questions but was eventually selected for GEP.

Personally, I feel it is not a matter of whether can the child complete the paper but whether could he/she solve the question and give the correct answer. No point rushing to complete all questions and make mistakes (interpret question wrongly, making computational or transfer errors etc).

Not true lah. My DS went to :imconstipated: for 15 minutes .. during the 40 min English paper - probably didn't finish and still got in. So for those who didn't finish, there is still hope.
