I could not find much information on the P3 GEP screening test contents/format earlier (searched using some key words in these forums/google).

Sharing this info based on inputs from DS (Aug 2012 tests) before we both forget :–

        Maths: 1hr 30 mins.
        Section A:25 questions, all MCQ
Section B:25 questions, answers to be written in provided boxes in another sheet.
Most questions similar to school tests, 2 mark Qs.

        English: 1hr 15 mins.
Section A:25 questions, all MCQ - grammar, vocab, 2 MCQ compre.
Section B:25 questions, answers to be written in provided boxes in another sheet.
        - cloze with fill in the blanks (own words).
        - fill in the blanks.
        - punctuations, prepositions.

If any of the experienced parents can share the format of the round 2 format/content, it would be useful too.

        Thanks!

The experienced parents will probably say it's not necessary to know the format 😉

I reckon the type of some of the questions are typically of the format whereby they give an example with solutions for a set of questions, and the child will answer the questions based on their understanding and deduction.

          Cheers.

Gotten some updates from DS2’s school regarding GEP dates :

            16 to 17 Oct - 2nd Round
10 Nov - P3 GEP (for those selected for GEP in 2013) Parents’ Briefing @ NUS High

            Hope this info is useful.

Hi, anyone know when the round 1 results would be out? next week?

How does the school or MOE inform parents usually of the results?

A friend said results will be released on the 10th. True?

But teachers should know the results by now. Round 1 is marked by the school teachers.

The school will issue letter to students who are able to go second round.

Thanks to all for your replies.

If the results is to be release so late, say 10 Oct, parents with shortlisted kids will be left with little time to make arrangement on 16th & 17th Oct (i.e. selection test dates). There is no schooling on both these dates and I understand not all schools will help to organise the logistics.

                    Anyone can advise?

Hee hee I think alot of parent is willing to take leave if their child get selected.

I know some school when there is alot of the student get selected, they will cater a bus to transport their students to take the exam.
