      toddles:
yup this title is misleading! Was thinking so out of character for 3Boys to recommend \"what to have\" before breakfast.... haha

and yes, there are some very good blind buskers in Singapore. I usually give to those who really can sing. There's this guy who frequents White Sands and he's awesome.
      :hi5:
oh ya... i've heard the blind busker at white sands too. he's good
      toddles:
Maybe they should diversify their business, and offer \"open mike\" time to those who are not too bad at singing (won't chase away the audience) for a fee! šŸ˜‰
also recall reading this report (sorry, getting old... read so many articles but can't remember where i came across them) where the authorities at a subway station would stage audition for talented musicians before they can play the violin, guitar, sing... at the stations. So, if u are not good enough, the license would not be approved.

think the rationale was to enhance the quality and appreciation for the aesthetics in the community

Paris perhaps? I've heard (maybe apocryphal) that Paris Metro buskers need to undergo an audition...

Home to Mona Lisa, by the way.

Buskers Audition to Play Music Underground

The sounds of accordions and harps rang out in Grand Central Station on Tuesday morning at the annual tryouts for \"Music Under New York.\" The program, run by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (M.T.A.), allows Subway buskers to play in key locations underground and use amplification in their busking acts. Approved musicians can also hang official banners alongside their acts while performing.

Some 350 performers are on the MTA's roster of sanctioned performers. Of the 65 individuals and groups who tried out Tuesday morning, about 20 more will be selected to be part of the \"Music Under New York\" program.

A panel of judges made up of New York arts figures will select the lucky buskers in two weeks. The MTA's program is in its 24th year.

          Music Under New York

Classical violinists, Cajun cellists, jazz ensembles, bluesmen, Latin guitarists, opera and folk singers are just a few of the MUNY performers in the subway and train stations contributing to the music culture of New York City. Since 1985, MTA Arts for Transit has managed the MUNY program presenting quality music to the commuting public. At present, more than 200 soloists and groups participate in MUNY providing over 150 weekly performances at 25 locations throughout the transit system.

Ok same thoughts, wondering if it is one of those health recommendations. And yup wondering why 3boys is peddling pearls b4 breakfast.

            But really interesting read.
