      Lim Siew Ha:
Thks. 3rd choice i put serangoon gdn which the cop is 188 sure can get. In this case, i didn't use my remaining 3 choices. How?

How about other schools in Hougang, Sengkang or Punggol like
      Edgefield Sec (median 219)
      North Vista Sec (median 211)
      Compassvale Sec (median 221)

score of 219 is good, hence you should go for schools with median score about the same level as your son. not sure why you choose serangoon gdn? although the school COP is from 188 to 265, but the median score is only 199, which means this 265 is a special case. 50% of the students score between 188 to 199.

note i am not saying that serangoon gdn is not good, but i think you son should try schools with higher score.

        Flowermonaster:

Any good schools to recommend for TScore 249+2, a girl. Stay in Jurong.

        TIA.

Based on Past Year O level results, COP range (including median) and the already removed Banding Score,
        1) Bukit Panjang Govt High
        2) Commonwealth Sec
        3) Swiss Cottage

For other good qualities that you are looking at, you have to visit the schools or the school websites.

        :thankyou:
Anyone has any comment on NanHua high?

My daughter score 238 + 1 . Any chance of getting into Nan Hua (COP 243 last year) if I appeal for her?

The Best is of course RVHS (2011 COP:254), so be prepared to appeal. You might want to go down and talk to the P/VP abt your chances or how to improve your chances of getting in. But bear in mind your daughter must be prepared to work hard bec life in RV might be quite challenging.

Other schools to consider : MGS, Crescent Girls', CHIJ St Nick, SCGS, BPGH, NHHS.

My dd scored 232+2. My 1st 3 choices would be as follows:

              1. Ngee Ann Sec (COP: 233) May not make it. But if can, would it matters if my dd is in the last of the cohort? What's at stake? 5min walk from where we stay.
              2. Dunman Sec (COP:229)
              3. Temasek Sec (COP: 230)
              4.
              5.
              6.

For the remaining choices, we're contemplating on the below few schools in the East. They're:

Hai Sing Catholic (COP: 225) No clue on this school. Any comments? Affiliated to Catholic JC.
Bedok View (COP: 217) Will be in top of cohort.
St. Hilda's (COP: 228) No clue on this school. Any comments?
              Pasir Ris (COP: 221) DD teacher's told them \"better not choose\" :?
Nan Chiau High (COP: 236) SAP school. Risky, still out by 2pts after +2 in HCL.

We hope to hear more comments and recommendations on the above schools' choices before firming the final 6s.

              :thankyou:

...and Chung Cheng Main, I heard their classrooms are air cond.

Nowadays many schools have air con in their classrooms.

I am not so familiar with those schools listed above.

I will place my top 2 choices as Nan Chiau (-2) and Ngee Ann (-1) and be prepared to appeal.

I seriously think RVHS is out, even with HCL point can't even reach last year COP. Thanks for recommending. 😄

Miss by 4 pts (2011 COP:243), do you have anything to back you up. e.g. performing arts or sports. You may want to go down to the school and talk to the P/VP abt your chances.
