despite tuition/enrichment, my boy's compo drop from 18/20 in exams to 18/30 for class work. :faint:

she also did v badly for sci despite tuitn. last yr stil 80+, but sa2 76. now p4 ca1 jus 68. i cant believe it. whr she will wk harder i duno but shes willg to do wk type. i really duno wats wrong wf her. mcq 46/60. so jia lat. evn if she practise exam ppr all qn nvr come out. her class got pple 60+. 1 fail. but her gd frds all anv 80. now i duno wat to do: stop tuitn, change tuitn, wk harder　? she does well in tuitn but jus cant perf in exams. she sleep at 930, wake up 615. i nvr stress her . i totally lost confidence in her

maybe her paper is very tough? have you compare it with other sch's past year exam papers? analyse how marks are lost; your dd lost 14marks on MCQ (ie 7Q wrong) and got 68, means that she lost 18marks on Sect B (22/40). look at Sect B, is the marker very strict? or is she confused with certain concepts? or she missed/misread out certain questions. compare the materials/worksheets from tuition and sch exams to see what is the gap. some kids are naturally weak in certain subjects despite additional help; for my boy, it seems to be mother tongue. :sad:

For your dd science, is she on group or 1-1? Group tuition tends to be more hands-on. My ds of course loves and enjoys the class. When when come to exam, I found that he has the cconcept but cant answer to the point. End of the day, I need to sit with him and teach him technique of answering.

I remembered meeting DD1's Maths tuition centre teacher before one of the lessons started and got to chit-chat with her. She said this,\" When your kid has her 1st CA1, do expect a drop in the result. Then SA1 she will move up a little bit, CA2 a little bit more and by SA2, you will see a better result than what was in the CA1. P4 Maths is a bit more difficult compares with P3 and hence, do give the kid room to learn.\" I was very encouraged and touched by the tutor's words and hence adjust my expectations

Though they go to tuition we have to guide. That’s why i hesitate to send. Some more my son doesn’t like to go. I think i need to send my son in p5.

be confident in urself. U can teach her.if u have doubt ask here and search in the book or web.clear urn doubts first then t her.u can do it.2papamum mentioned somewhere own parents are the best t for their kids.she did mention that don’t worry about what level ur education.i took her words as a mantra.we r blessed to have this forum and with more kind people.

I send my son for English only.now i asked him to attend mt he refused to go.very headache cos he doesn’t cooperate/listen with me for mt cos he doesn’t like.

she goes grp. mayb u r right. too much hands on？，there r some who got 60+ but her cls frd who nvr practise or revise got 86. i not a sci person not sure shd cont tuitn. she evn had revn class

One of my friend told me to send tuition for sci. Her kids haven’t start the sci yet. She has a lack of confidence.she feels that should send tuition and always encourage me to send.


Before the exam i have doubted my son would pass maths exam. Cos he lost marks due to careless mistakes last year.Then this year model qns are not easy.i scared. After the exam bit confident that he will take pass marks.pray and hope.
