You mean sec school still need tuition? We r not done with it after PSLE and they r still not independent to do self-study?:faint:

 Sec school got 8-9 subjects, so 1 tuition each, still have 8-9 tuition for a sec school going pupil though they spend half day in school already :yikes:

      LOLMum:
6 tuition is outdated now, some of them have 10 tuition (one for every language subject, two compo and two orals, 2 sciences and 2 maths with 1 based on syllabus and another for GEP ).

Estimated cost is $2.5K exuding music, dance, swimming, tennis, golf, taekwondo:yikes:

How in the world do kids fit all these in? :yikes: Still have cca n when competition dates draw near, have to go for extra training....

I also wonder how to have 6 tuition classes?

My secondary school level kids can only manage 1 tuition each. Maybe need more, but no time. My JC one fits in 2 tuition classes, but then only 2+more months to the end of her so-called formal schooling life. After this, wherever she goes, no need wear school uniform already.
What half-a-day in school? With CCA and projects, etc, on average, it's 5pm to 8pm when they come back from school each day! That's why I say how to have that many tuition?

I thought it is quite common nowadays. No? Back to back tuition classes everyday and some are conducted at home. Am I putting my girl in the wrong school? šŸ˜“ Am I living in a different era as u? :?

Melodies, so your girl has back-to-back tuition classes everyday too? What school is that?

O, paiseh! I don't have sec school going teenager, so don't know it is a full time program for sec school. During my time, it was half day in sec school, so I assumed the same.. I's referring to primary kids le..I'm sorry for not making this clear in my previous note. :imsorry:

:udawoman: please come back soon...... my dd is currently in P3 same age your youngest one ...any tips for her now?...so that she can make it to University by 16 :please:

                    2ppaamm:

Melodies, hehehe... don't worry about tuition lah, when I come back one day, I will set up a centre, and you can register. I will guarantee applicants will enter the university of their choices by 16, and no tuition required, just 4 hours of study a day, and must take part in CCA with age peers. My track record? 80% and will reach 100% soon - better than GEP by far. hahahah!!!

But only open to non-GEPpers. Since GEPpers already have the MOE looking after them. Need PSLE score of 240 to apply if age to university is <16, for those <240, can only guarantee to university at 18 or 19. For those who score less than 200 at PSLE, I will help to put into training institutes after equivalent of 'A' levels. Tuition fee: just material costs.

And, I am 100% confident of the results.

Maybe action speaks louder than words. šŸ™‚

If want to be kiasu, kiasi and kiabo, be really kiasu, kiasi, kiabo. Don't stop half way. Achieve beyond your dreams! And you can! The system cannot stop you, and there is help available. MOE is not the only system in the world. Don't let that stop you. šŸ™‚

Yes! Don't chase after the wind, or you will have no time to focus on what is important, the system is designed for you to keep chasing after your own tail. Just learn things well, very well, and then keep moving on. When you are done with P6 work well, I can put anyone who is at least average on the accelerated path, as long as they are motivated.

In sec school, CCA can be 2x - 3x per week. Usually CCA starts at 3.30pm and ends at 6.30pm. On somedays, it can be 6-8pm. When it's near competition times, Saturdays included!

And we haven't included the numerous (ridiculous and often useless) - projects they have to meet up for after school and on weekends.

Good song leh... every time she feels like giving up, I will sing it back to her. \"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller!\"
