      With regard to these senior teachers, I have seen many who have performed their duties to the best of their abilities precisely because they have the experience and are able to guide the pupils efficaciously. They may have lost their zeal, but they certainly know how to assist their kids to score well. And they are also heavily involved in other committee work.
      Hi I think you are referring to senior teacher and I am referring to 1A3 classroom teacher who do not head any committee. Of course the senior teacher will work hard to raise through the rank of SEO and even master teacher. As for classroom 1A3 teacher, there is no explicit incentives to work hard.

        Huh :scratchhead:

        Now I am really confused. Another further division among the hierarchy of teachers??? I thought all teachers had to be involved in committee work??
        But it's okie, you don't need to reply to this post. I am quite happy remaining ignorant as this doesn't concern me anymore πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

        Good night!!

          Good night!![/quote]1A1->1A2->1A3->SEO onwards

          All teachers need not be heavily involved in committee. A 1A3 teacher can be in library and green committee (useless comittee) while aspiring 1A3 can be dean Academic excellence and head NCC.

            Crap. I should have volunteered myself for those!
            I was in 3 committees (PIC of Sexuality Education was bad enough - they just had to add 2 more!) and I was dying from the workload!

              In my 2 schools, of course they welcome you to not take so many committees. At the end of the day, they will have a easier time awarding D and C- (New ranking hehe). They let you decide on your bonus and promotion. Seriously, some 1A3 teachers don't care at all as they are already ranking in high 6k (I have not worked outside other than MOE. May I ask if high 6k is possible for a 7.30am-2pm work without any stress?).

                Mine was 'forced'. They made it sound like I had an option, but really, there was no chance to say 'no' - until I quit. πŸ˜›

                  Endless meetings

                  In one school I was in, they have meeting every 3 months and in another school, they have meeting every 2 weeks. See the difference? Both school are of the same standard.

                  Meetings in school, IMHO, are just avenues where wayang teachers showcase their projects to the SCM on the expense of the good teachers' time.

                    Mine was every Wednesday. EVERY.
                    And... lessons end at 2pm, they start at 2pm. No time for lunch. Never mind. They don't provide lunch or tea either!

                    On agenda states estimated to end by 4pm. End up, we were there till 7pm. Why? Listen to P's 'hero talk'. So sorry, but I rather use that 5 hours to plan lessons, prepare worksheets, catch students for remedial/stay back to complete homework they owe me, etc.
