Just found this blog. Perfect example of a mummy, son and daugther blog. Great for creative writing to get your children to blog. Check it out http://www.blogger.com/feeds/1521041582551122369/posts/default.

ya..starting a blog is a cool idea. fyi, i think the blog you stated is written by the mummy from her son's point of view. many mummy bloggers do that too. 😎

Alamak... really arh? I've been had then :? . But after how my son's teacher showed me who's boss by producing her top students' essays, I'm willing to believe anything.

I havent’ been able to hold her to her task of blogging everyday…as she couldn’t access the blogging portal from home now. Think I would go create a blogger account for her.

blogging is a good way but my kid always wanders off to other sites when blogging so i stopped it. i get him to write journal or diary instead, i also send him for creative writing class. class is very helpful, the teacher is very kind and encouraging, my boy likes going to the creative writing class. This current tutor is by far the best I ever engage, not because she can produce results but because she motivates and build rapport with the children. but class alone is not enough, reading and writing at their own free will is very important. for example, i bring him out of movie but there is a condition, he needs to write a summary of the movie’s story or sometimes i get them to do verbal composition with me, we think of stories together, he enjoys it a lot.

                  Hi

Which class did your child attend? Which teacher, my son needs lots of motivation.

                  Thanks

                    Hi,

Any body tried MMI Creative writing? Is it good?

To super_dad, so did you teach your kid how to type efficiently before introducing the blogging activities?

Any body has any comments on Jan & Elly’s Creative Writing or Pre-Creative Writing programme?

Any parents have kids undergoing Creative Writing? How is the structure of a lesson like?

Hi, my girl P1 is with Jan & Elly creative writing class from beginning of the year. From my impression, they do reading, grammar, etc… and also writing.

But I felt that my girl is still not good. Eg. I observed in her school work that she wrote 11-12 sentences BUT she don’t read what she wrote and what is written differs what from she thinks. Also, her sentences are not grammatically perfect. Sometimes, she may want to write certain words but do not know how to spell it correctly. These are some of the problems I encountered. So in the last SA1, I told her to write no more than 5 sentences as the more she writes, she is potentially making more mistakes.

Frankly, i am not sure if it is due to her readiness or??? I am just monitoring and try to give her some compo to write. But I do see the work of her top friend in school where the work they do is really grammatically correct, etc… A friend told me lorna whiston is good. Any one has experience?

Sorry, I think I am abit mountain tortoise. I think it would be fun for my girl to blog as she find it fun when I post pics on facebook, etc… but how do I get started? My hubby is sort of "against" sharing too much info on the net.
