Actually this Felali driver's wife has done nothing wrong, she herself is a victim too. Does modern law do such thing like \"诛连九族\"?
dont think so in singapore and many other countries.
but i think in taiwan, if any family member (be it father, mother, brother or sister) dies and has debts unpaid, the living members are liable for it..........do correct me if i am wrong ......any taiwanese here? -
LOLMum:
So in Singapore if a debtor got killed by Ah Long, will his family liable to pay? What if he owed credit card companies, family liable? :scratchhead:snowfly:

never encounter this problem…and dont want to…
but thought in spore, creditors can lay claim to his assets first before distributing the rest to the beneficiaries… -
Person die already can claim from estate. If his estate is empty, no more claim. However if it was shown that the family had money from him, not sure if they can pursue. This only my theoretical thinking.

From what i heard if the person die still owe ah long, ah long will find the family, owe credit card the card company may proceed to retrieve the money owed from the dead person estate.

I used to buy those bars of Hershey's chocolate and Vanhouten chocolate from NTUC. Recently of late, somehow Hershey's and Vanhouten have changed from \"Made in America\" to \"Made in the PR of China\".Moreover the sentence \"Made in PR of China\" is hidden behind one strap of plastic wrap. You have to flip the plastic wrap open to see the tiny words there
Thanks for alerting us, Ichigokun! My hubby is very particular will read all those small prints before buying food stuff. Especially milk products and beverages he make sure he buy those from Australia or New Zealand. Especially Milo and chocolates! Nowadays we are pretty weary of U.S brands as well ....too processed and manufactured until it is scary... -

Take note of certain brands which used to be made in US or Australia.
Heinz Mayonnaise used to be from US, now it is produced in china. I read labels carefully when buying food. For canned luncheon meat and sausages, i buy Tulip. Even vegetables, I try to get locally planted. A friend told me never buy kiwi fruit grown in china. It seems the fruits are soaked in some chemical to grow bigger. These chemicals cause illness when consumed. Farmers are capable of doing anything to get bigger profits. -
In USA, it’s quite common to hear recall of food products - sometimes even daily. Contamination or some handling problems during processing. And some countries uses lots of trans fat.
