Was there last week, love all the durian stuff.. :love:Augmum:
Anyone tried the buffet spread @ Melt Cafe (Mandarin Oriental) ? The seafood spread is rather good and they offer BBQ food (weekend only - Fridays & Saturdays only). The dessert spread also quite good .. My DD loves the chocolate fondue
If yr dd luv chocolate fondue, can try Rendezvous Straits Cafe....
they have both the dark ( i mean brown) and white chocolate fondue ......
Oh ya, their cupcakes, chocolate fudge cakes also very good....
And for durian lovers, they have durain pengat, durian fudge cakes and durian eclairs too..... :please:
Omg.....feel like eating now...... Lol....
My DS found the oysters so-so only..
They charge full price for kids..
Oh....they charge full price for kids ? How old is yr child ?
I thot their kids' price is for age 11 and below, no ?
Yes, all their durian stuff are yummy.....
I din try their oysters as we dun take raw food..... -

I can understand yr frustration n disappointment ....Traders hotel cafebiz manager confirmed that they have not been serving oysters for their dinner buffet for some weeks already. And yet their staff confirmed that they serve oyster for buffet when I called them up to inquire n made reservations last Friday! Imagine how disappointed we were as we would have opt for another restaurant that serves oyster after making plans for this evening's dinner(babysitting plans etc). We learned from the manager that we should have taken down the staff's name when we make inquiries. Heck!
Can anyone recommend somewhere else that serves oyster? Think next time i'll give swissotel merchant court my biz instead of cafebiz as the formal serves tasty durian pengnet rather than frozen ones from cafebiz. Angry I didn't get to eat oysters!
Those long legs crab they served were a saver to the otherwise disappointing meal as both the scallops n mussels served were tasteless.
when one cant have the food item which one specifically crave to eat in a particular buffet.
Btw, did u go for the 1 for 1 deal ( fr Mon- Wed) or the full-price buffet ?
i heard that for the 1 for 1 deal, std and food variety has lessen, wonder is it true ?? -

Hi Augmum,
thks for yr review on Carousel....
Oh hi tea huh....i yet to check on theirs, only happened to see the quoted price for wkend dinner is at $75++....
May i ask, do they offer any hot meat dishes for hi-tea,
as most hi-tea buffet spread are alike......
like laksa, rojak, popiah, assorted dim sum.....no craving for such already...
but we simply like the timing for hi-tea.....
Yes, the spread is as per what you mentioned
-
DH lazy sort, so leave it be..
The oyster up to 4 each time.. and my DH found them not to good ...

Haha, if can save $$, dont think i will be lazy to question them.DH lazy sort, so leave it be..
The oyster up to 4 each time.. and my DH found them not to good ...
Won't be heading there again that soon..
Moreover, it was rather obvious that they had mistakenly charged yr kid at Adult price. -
