Don't have much information at the River Valley Pri School website.

Certain pages still under construction like the Principal, Vice Principal profile.

Also there is no PSLE 2008 on how they had perform.

If anyone have more info on RVPS do share it here.

Hi,just wanna share a little info on RVPS.

PSLE results have been quite good the past few years, with at least one student scoring >275. However, for PSLE 2008,their results declined a little - their top score was 267 and read from somewhere that 3 students scored 267.

I have tuition kids who are/were from RVPS. They have CA1,SA1,CA2 and SA2 exams for Pri 2 to Pri 6 kids. Pri 1 only have SA1 and SA2,if I am not wrong. It is quite competitive studying in RVPS if your kids are of higher abilities. Other than class position, they also rank students in terms of level position. The top 40 will go into the best class, next 40 in the second class and so forth. They only have best 3 classes. The rest of the students are mixed together. Students are put into the better class from Pri 3 onwards. Their standards are quite high;as in,the questions in their exam papers can be quite difficult. However, since last year 2008,I see more easy-to-handle questions.

Character-wise,I think RVPS kids are quite ok,although there can be a handful of kids who break school rules like bringing hps to school, improper attire etc. Such kids mostly come from lower-end classes,as what my tuition kid said.

        Hope the info helps.

I am still young to have kids now, however,if I have any kids in future,I would definitely consider RVPS. Firstly,I live within 1-2km(balloting for the past few years is for those living outside 2km)and I trust their standards. šŸ˜„

          Hi Ruru,

Thanks for the information on RVPS. Yes from the RVPS website there is very little information on thier PSLE results. Yes agreed that maybe this time round thier PSLE 2009 do not produce any top score candidate with 275 & above.

May I know is RVPS standard higher then Radin Mas Primary? If you have any information on Radin Mas? They had a new Principal in Jan 09, therefore still unable to evaluate the power of RVPS.

            Hi,

I do not know the standards of Radin Mas Primary; however,I do know that it is harder to get in Radin Mas than RVPS as it is more popular - there are usually many more applicants than vacancies compared to RVPS.

Anyone have any extra information on River Valley Primary School?

Does P1, in the afternoon session where one of the weekday must to go in the morning?

When they reach P3 onwards how often do they require to stay back in the afternoon? Heard have to pay extra $$ to the school bus operator?

Anyone can explain what all these achievements means:

              River Valley Primary

Achievements in 2008 for Primary Level

              Character Development : ** (2 Stars)
              Physical Aestsetics : **** (4 Stars)

Are you staying near this school?[/quote]Not near the school but evaluating it. The school is quite deep in & it is quite a distance to walk from the school gate to the nearest bus stop.

Quite a concern as next time they need to stay back perhaps for enrichment, ECA or remedial. Generally the school building is rather new as it was shifted from the old address to its present location.
