All About Getting Priority Registration

Sounds to me like harry potter, half blood etc.kitcat:
even only 1 parent convert with the kids, the kids(boys) will still need to serve NS, so fair lah...
exactly. I don't understand why people want to be so discriminatory and use words like \"pure\" and \"impure\". sounds almost like hitler. -
Oops, just realise there is a \"war\" over this \"pure\" and \"impure\" term.
Lets bury these terms and start our discussion abt how to get our children priority to our choice school!! :snuggles:
So anyone changing their mind and decide to aim the popular schools after the change in ruling to give us priority?
For me, i am still abit scare that the 10% elimination of PR will not increase my chance by alot.
:nailbite:
Lucky my registration is next year. So i will see the numbers for this year.
Any idea if the schools have started to accept volunteers? Heard that most school actually put on hold until Mr Heng announcement and since it doesnt impact volunteers scheme, school should be calling parents up for interview i suppose. -
For me, I may just give it a shot.
Who knows i may hit Toto.

A gambler? What is priority?
-
No…me no gambler.
Scenario like this:
Between a not bad but sure to get in school and a v good but need to ballot school, which one would you choose?
Both within 1km from my place, I am not selected for volunteer (yet).
So can only depend on 2c phase.
With more priority for citizens now, I am seriously thinking of gg for the v good but need to ballot school.
But if I don’t get in, I may end up not even getting to that not bad school.
Dilemma!!
By the way, if my choice of school in 2C is the v good school but yet I cannot get in,
Then I will end up in a later phrase rite? So subsequently, when the next phrase open for registration, will I get priority over PR and foreigners?
Or the not bad school in 2c phrase would have already taken in children for 1km, 1-2km, PR and if there is no space left, I will not even be able to get in?
Sorry my English is not very good. Somemore I read abt the recent attack on some pp who use terms like pure etc. hope i will not get any attack for using words like "very good school" and not bad school -

Yes.Karl12:
Don't quite understand your question. Priority only applies for balloting within the phase. So, if all the vacancies in your backup school are taken up in P2C (regardless by SC or PR), there will be no P2CS for this school. Hence, there will not even be balloting, let alone talk about whether you will have priority over PRs.So subsequently, when the next phase open for registration, will I get priority over PR and foreigners? Or the not bad school in 2c phrase would have already taken in children for 1km, 1-2km, PR and if there is no space left, I will not even be able to get in?

If u failing ballot in dream sch u will be in later phase later on but in your backup sch as dream sch no more vacancy for later phase aka p2cs. U will have priority over PR in registration in backup sch in p2cs but bear in mind that u may need to ballot it out with other citizens if your back up sch vacancy is limited in p2cs as a result of their popularity increase in the PR community as PR turn to these sch to secure a place at p2c to avoid balloting .
Do note that there may only be a handful of schemes left in p2cs . Personally, I will go ballot in dream sch if I have a backup sch within 1 km that is not popular . If your backup sch is 1 to 2km away, citizens staying within 1km have priority over u in case of ballot. So when monitoring registration statistics, monitor your dream sch n backup sch too.
I will suggest that if u can get hold of past registration data, add up all the registration numbers from phase1 to 3 n compare against total vacancies in all the schools in your fustrict -
I mean will suggest that if u can get hold of past registration data, add up all the registration numbers from phase1 to 3 n compare against total vacancies in all the schools in your district to see if u will at least get into any nearby sch in case u fail in p2cs ballot . But take these statistics as guide only as the change in registration priori may have cause some unexpected results .
Good luck. -
Hi all,
Thanks do much for all the guidance.
Much appreciated. -
Hi, may I know how long it takes to de-register the successful phase2b secured place and register for 2c phase? Last day of registration for phase 2c to do both can? Thanks.
