Any parents of existing TNS students can share how it was during the orientation day?

Were there long queues to buy uniforms and books? did they have sufficient stocks and sizes?

after reading about queues in other school made me worried ... i'm not a queue person. 😞

        Yes, queue indeed !

Not sure whether orientation programme will change but for last year, there was a brief talk for the parents while teachers bring the kids to their respective classrooms (for orientation).

But you do not need to get the uniforms and books on the day of orientation. There’re a few other dates indicated and less crowded if you go on another day.

You’ll need to check out which sports group your child is in on the day of orientation as the sports T-shirt goes by sports group (name after sea animals).

          thanks for the info ...

much as i hate queues, but in the spirit of being a kiasu parent, i shall join the queue 😞 as i dare not risk going on other days and find certain items out-of-stock. 😢

Did your kids enjoy the games galore yesterday? Donations collected went to the Geyland East home for the aged. My son was manning one of the stalls that and he had so much fun. Hope the other children had fun too.

Most important is they are aware the money collected went for a good cause. I'm also touched that some of the teachers bought the coupons with their own money and then gave the coupons to the kids to play and win prizes.

I wonder why nobody won that huge teddy bear. Son said the game board wasn't \"fixed\" such that it's impossible to win. At least the kids are honest. But based on probability, that huge bear should be home with some lucky child.

            :?

              T3:
Heard from a friend that a bowl of noodle cost $0.70 so the kids need about $2 for pocket money! Also, the class are separated based on month of birth, that is why they have 12 classes.

I wonder typically how much parents give to their primary school children.
Hi T3, my son gets only $8 per week. He seldom eats at recess and prefer to snack on tidbits so he can play. He saves a lot too.

Hmmm…here’s me talking to myself. Just like CHS, TNS is a hot school, but where are all the newbie parents…Don’t they want to know something…anything???

My son has grown from a small, unsure fella to a tall, respectful (they auto- bow to their teachers) and confident child. He’s been given lots of opportunities to grow while there…even the weaker ones are rostered to be monitors, subject leaders etc. He especially loves PE lessons…which unfortunately, is sometimes cancelled near exams. They do the 1.6km NAPFA run at the beach. Their school has adopted a small garden there too and the students take turns to tend to the plot.

They wear PE attire to school during the hot months. It’s compulsory to read Eng/Chinese story books before assembly.

He loves school so much that he’s feeling sad that his days there are numbered…but at the same time, he looks forward to playing internet games after his psle.

                  Twins:
My firend's daughter is in Sailing and loving it! So committed to it that she spends at least 2 to 3 times a week just on sailing, on top of her BICEP classes, music and ballet. Then again, she's any mother's dream....committed, mature and disciplined

                  Hi twins,
it's easy to guess who yr friend's daughter is..There's only 1 girl in bicep who sails, I think.
