Suggest you keep quiet about it. Most of those who hold immense power at RCs/NCs are old people who only want self-sacrificing volunteers with no hidden agendas. Got it straight from the horse's mouth so I know.

Why would someone with young kids want to spend weeknights and weekends doing stuff at the void decks when their kids need them more? Isn't it obvious that pple with young kids who join grassroots all have an agenda? Those old pple with grown-up kids just dun understand. :slapshead:

PV at the school is a better option, really...
Can't agree more. Those people in RCs/NCs who has been there for a long time always quite suspicious of those younger one who joined them. You will need a few years of active participation to gain their trust.

it is true that when an observer joins the rc meeting for the first time, we will ask him/her to introduce. All of us knew the agenda behind even though some chose to keep quiet and not revealing. After May every year, we will start counting who will disappear, because somewhere in May, GRLs will get Phase 2B letter.

PV is better because your agenda is realistic.

Think it is fair and morally right to keep serving at least 1 -2 terms more after your child got into P2B. It is quite demoralise to see those who use this system to gain the benefit and varnish once objective met. What kind of society is this.

Agree that PV is better as everyone there goes in with the same objective and the expectation once \"job done\" can varnish.

It is indeed very demoralized to existing GRLs because the person who has agenda used to be very active and suddenly disappear. They will attend once in 3-4 mths, giving excuse such as overseas assignment lah, not in Singapore lah, work late lah, all sort excuses.

hahaha..... seems like standard answers everywhere. Else they will just attend the monthly meeting just to sign the attendance sheet and never appear in any activities. Signing the attendance sheet ensure they are still \"active\" in the view of PA and can maintain the membership to get other benefits such as free parking

It does not matter under which division... If ur IC indicate under Moulmein-Kallang GRC, then u can enrol ur child any sch under this GRC... Its only the distance that count... Do u stay 1km from SCGS?

May I know what free parking?[/quote]It's free parking (except private ones like shopping malls) within whole of SMC/GRC. But you need to pay for your own carpark first. The parking label will be encoded so when they scan it, they will know you're GRL and valid for free parking from 7am to 11pm daily within the SMC/GRC. You need to apply for it at HDB office with a letter from PA endorsed by MP. You may get the letter via your CM.
