Did you attend their monthly meeting? Check your name in the attendance list whether is it under observers or members?

Make sure help out in the event as much as you can. Build rapport with chairman as you need chairman’s signature for Phase 2B letter.

Be active, because at the end of the day, you do not wish other members talking behind and say "UGLY’ people.

How fast/ slow is PA at processing the certificate of appointment? I applied to be a volunteer since feb 2011 and only received the letter to attend meeting in sep 2011! 6 months!!

Had been super ‘on’ since sep last year, attended meetings, block parties, advisor block visits, blood donation drive admin support and course organized for RC members. Actually quite fun lah, got to meet and connect with my neighbours. The RC members are very nice and passionate people. But the wait for the PA letter is really stressful!

check with the CO directly. You know who is the CO right? He/She is from the PA and sits in the RC meeting.

Good that your are super ‘on’.

So those people who want to join as RC member for P1 application, you give an ample time for PA to process. To be safe 2 years before the month of APRIL on the year of P1 registration exercise.

Yup, the CO was the one who told me that she had submitted the application and I can join in the courses conducted for RC members.

Cos I went to ask her whether I need to pay for the course since I’m still an observer. Then she said I no need to pay as I’m considered a member since she had already submitted the form.

So now is still the wait for PA ‘confirmation lettter’.

can you go to ‘GRASSROOT CONNECT’. Login via your Singpass and see whether you can log in or not. If yes, this is confirm that you are a member effective which date and month? you must know the effective date. Because P1 application for PA website will be open by May of every year. Make sure by May next year, you have 1 year service in PA.

Phase 2B Letter needs Chairman signature? Thought we just apply online and PA will directly send to us or via CO?

You need to look at PA's perspective. Applying to be a volunteer means to serve the community. So the processing time (of confirming to be a EM) is not a time critical thing. During the processing, one can still volunteer his/her time and serve the community. Able to get into P2B for P1 registration is just an added privilege. It is not an ends.

It is not like applying for PV in a school. Both yourself & the school know the outcome for this application - To get into P2B for P1 registration. Thus the processing time will be fast and expectation on both parties are the same.

My chairman just forwarded us the email from PA, application for P1 registration this year is opened. Need to apply by 8 jun. members of CCC, CCMC, RC and NC need to be appointed on or before 30 jun 2011.

If the timeline remains the same next year, I have until jun this year to keep my fingers crossed! :xedfingers: 🙏
