Fitst of all., EM is a title not a certification. Second, the RC/NC chairman will be consulted to whether u will be given EM or observer. As I said before, some RC/NC do not have enough members, so any tom, dick or harry say want to join, they will welcome u. While my RC have full EM membership, and packed to the brim with observers waiting to convert, some waited as long as 1.5 years before getting converted to EM.
EM is certified byPA, and you serve in your RC. Doesn’t make sense to be observer again , or you met real cases?Davischew\" post_id=\"1962387\" time=\"1580983620\" user_id=\"132882:

the serve first shift later strategy will mostly work if you move constituency within your own GRC since you should have build up rapport within the GRC, but across different GRCs its a different ball game. Some RC/NC will put you back to observer first before confirming you as EM again since they are not familiar with you thus resulting in not getting 2 years of continuous service. Key word is continuous.
Having said the above, sometimes even moving within GRC also can give problem as the GRO you shift to may be full of observers waiting to convert and cannot accept new EM/observers, thus resulting in you losing continuous GRL status, and not qualify for Phase 2B.
As I always say, it is not a given that the new GRO you are shifting to, will accept you with open arms since the dynamics of each GRO is different.
For my case, I have one Vice Chairman from another GRC who come over to join us. My chairman say to him, need him to become observer first, see his performance first before giving him EM and appointment and he wait 6mths before becoming EM. So even though PA give out the title but every GRO is different. Unless u got very powerful connection, things might be different. If u think u can waltz into any RC/NC and say I want to join u, they will give u EM straight away, think again.[/quote]Ok got it thanks! -

Mine is a matured estate but we have new BTOs that was completed recently, we have been seeing more young parents wanting to join. And yes, there are a few quite highly sought after primary school in my GRC.

I think every GRC will have a few highly sought after primary schools. Can’t think of any GRC where there is none.

There are schools with long history which traditionally are highly sought after and there are those relative new schools with MVP too. Mine is the former.floppy\" post_id=\"1962459\" time=\"1581041907\" user_id=\"97579:Extreme far east don’t have...(?)

Hi everyone… May I check if the 30 months rule still applies in the following scenario?
Successful Registration at Phase 2B (GRL and resident at GRC where school is located). However I am staying more than 2km away. The school I am looking at traditionally has no balloting at Phase 2B. Given this, do I still have to stay in the same GRC for 30 months? Appreciate your advice! -

If not, for example,
(A)
if 60 places,
30 applied,
all get in without balloting (no one is worse off because of you)
then no need to stay 30 months.
(B)
if 60 places,
70 applied,
60 SG and 10PR
all SG get in without balloting (the PR is worse off because of you)
need to stay 30 months.
(C)
if 60 places,
60 applied,
60 SG
all SG get in without balloting (no one is worse off because of you)
no need to stay 30 months.
There could be more scenario but I just keep to these 3 first. -

Hi, if based on Scenario A from Skii, people potentially can rent a room temporarily and register it as home address near the school he preferred. Once 2B registration complete they can just move back to his own residence since there is no minimum stay period required if vacancy > applied, which required no balloting.

Wondering whether this still complies with the MOE rule.
