Thank you... on behalf of the residents that you most likely will be helping out.
Actually I didn't think too much about partisan or not. I wanted to serve the community since my kids no longer need me and are independent learners . No offense to anyone . I did think about helping out at MPS and putting my skills /knowledge to good use at the same time rather than join PA/RC events where my skillsets may not be required.
To be honest, MPS do require a different skill sets
Cheers! -

A member can sit at the RC meeting observing patiently,
then be confirmed as a EM.
For the next 2 years, he attends every monthly meeting
and help out in most events
Step foot ZERO times into the brach.
does not know/care who the Branch Sect is
and still qualify for 2B by his own merits.
don't bring in your own standards into the equation.
Qualifying for 2B is a much simpler process.
and definitely non-politcal.

Exactly !
Thanks for bringing up this point...
The WHO YOU KNOW part comes not at the usual RC centers and activities.
It comes when you help out at the MPS.
Although the MPS session do not give you the letter - yet because WHO you know at the MPS - means the letter from your work at RC comes easier .
It is never political
Whether u 'qualify' or not will depends on the recommendations by the RC Chairman
How we recommend...
.. depends on many factors
Most of the time - if the member is active enough- we would send the name to PA for the letter to be sent.
Of course - there were those that were 'rejected'
Here, just sharing of how to increase your chance of getting the 'letter' - which is what the readers here want to know...[/quote]It became political when you start mentioning MPS. And it is not just qualify based on recommendation alone, you still need to list down your contributions over the 2 years to back up your application. No wonder PA GROs are declining in quality year on year, since the GRLs are busy forging connections rather than doing what need to be done.
I can share the best to increase your chance. Just be a yes man for 2 years. Everything also do, no question asked -
Hi Dear Gurus, I am new to the active community leader criteria and volunteering at RC, etc. May I kindly enquire more regarding the following:
1) The prospective school is located in the same GRC as where I currently reside, and I am intending to move within 1km of the school before my child’s P1 registration window. Can I volunteer/serve at the RC which is nearest to my home currently (this RC, my current home, my future home, and the propective pri school are all in the same GRC)? My concern is if this RC is not one that is closest to the prospective pri school. Not sure if it matters and will affect anything.
2) For volunteering at RC, do I complete the RC member nomination form and submit to the RC directly? Or should I submit the online volunteering form via grassroots connect?
3) Once I have clocked my necessary time/hours as an EM with the RC, as my RC/current home/future home/prospective pri school are all in the same GRC, should I apply for the active community leader letter before I move to my new home or after I move to my new home (when my NRIC reflects the new address)?
4) In terms of remaining as an EM with my RC, do I need to ensure that I am still an EM during the P6 registration window? Or just up till the time that I attain the certification letter? I am actually happy to remain as an EM even after my child goes to primary school but just concerned if they will kick me out since I moved to my new place (which is still within the GRC but no longer near the RC).
Thank you all! -

From MOE web
Question:
How do I qualify as an active community leader for registration at Phase 2B of the Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise? How do I register under Phase 2B?
Answer:
Current committee members of the Residents’ Committee (RC), Neighbourhood Committee (NC), Residents’ Network (RN), Citizen’s Consultative Committee (CCC), Community Club Management Committee (CCMC) and the Community Development Council (CDC) are eligible to register their children under Phase 2B.
You should check with your respective Constituency Office on the application procedures. If your application is approved, you will receive a letter of eligibility by the People’s Association (PA) for being an endorsed community leader. As an endorsed active community leader, you will need to clarify with your constituency office on:
● Whether your child is eligible for this registration phase.
● How to apply for the eligibility letter.
● The list of eligible schools .
If your child is eligible, you may proceed to register your child using an online application form during the stipulated registration period for Phase 2B i.e from 9am on Thursday, 23 July 2020 to 4.30pm on Friday, 24 July 2020.
The school which you are registered for may separately request for you to submit the letter of eligibility. -
-
When you first join, you will be registered as an Observer and you must be an active participant for at least 3-6 months before you are granted Executive Member status. You must be an Executive Member before you are given a chance to request for a letter signed by your MP to endorse you as an active community leader for priority registration in Phase 2B.

Just to clarify, you are doing P1 registration right, not P6? -
