I'm not ure if POP at TP or Bras B sell i-Ecel as a tool. Will let you know if I see it k. Alternatively, maybe you can call them to check if it's available.
I have used the yellow MOE book - The Singapore Model Method forLearning Mathematics...This book is a good investment for model drawing...covers models from the basics right up to the complicated models that the child will need in P5/P6. The chapters are arranged according to topics and all models are clearly labelled and explanations are clear.
However, because it covers models across the Pri sch syllabus...there are only about less than 20 pages that may be relevant to the P1/P2 syllabus....the part-whole model and the comparison model. The rest will be overwhelming, unless you intend to guide your child all the way to P6. -

Ok wil check again cos this saturday will be at United Sq again... Thanks.
I am preparing myself and learn first so that I know how to teach. I used to learn from my P5 students wen I was tutoring but that was almost 10-15 years ago... -

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: There will always be new assessment books out everytime you think you've bought most of it...very hard to keep up. we must control ourselves.... Only get new ones when your DD has finished the ones you bought earlier. Otherwise, you'll end up with unused assessment books end of P1. That's what happened to me with DD1...Being my 1st child, I got carried away..keke.

Hi plum-cake & Callie,
Was at POP at Thomson Plaza just now and saw the i-excel: Heuristic and model approach for P2 and P3 there. They don't have this book for P1 though but the P2 book also covers basic models.
Under the same FAN-Math series, there's a new book called i-excel: Models as a Tool for P2 and P3. These books only cover models with step by step instructions. No heuristic questions for this series.
Maybe you can check both i-excel series out and see if it's suitable for you.

Take heart. I'm sure you can go beyond that.

My DS in P6 this year. Last year I helped him with models for ratio/percentage etc. Quite complex than the lower primary ones. But guess what, I could not have solved these problems with model when DS was in P1-P2. I'm progressing with DS, so now my level of model drawing has reached P5-P6

:hi5: I'm in the same situation as you....Been guiding my DD from P1. Had no prior knowledge of models and learnt as we go. Indeed. it's been more insightful and enriching. Now, I find it a challenge to solve P6 questions which DD can't solve... -

I bought all the book from teachers@work Conquer titles for english when she started p1 last yr. as well as cassco, sap work books passt papers. learners grammer. end up with I didn have time, didn finish them. I realized it last dec when I start to clean up the book shelf. but what I did was for thoes conquer eng books, they have this easy tearable pages. so I took 1 page from each book staple it and gave it to my dd and asked her to do it every day. like Kumon way. I able to finish them all and we are going to start the P2 ones next week. but the rest of the books I just pass them to my neighbours' All of the are new..
