For Chinese, roughly I know what to get. But for English, I do agree with you that it's better to get 2 different titles - 'My Pals' for teaching purpose (pics and friendly fonts used can keep her attention) while Conquer for reinforcement. I do diff topic/subjects with her every night but will be more 'on' next year (P2).

Next year! P3 😒 Got to teach Science :imconstipated:

My gal is in P3 this year and I also have problems for Science...So, being abit paranoid and Kiasu - I bought her the Lower Science Booster Note in June last year for her to have a feel what \"Science\" is all about.

I also agree that English is very difficult to teach! I only get her the following 3 assessment books so far:-
1) Adventures in English Primary 3 (a rabbit on the front cover)
2) Challenging English 4-in-1 by EPH
3) Boost your creative writing skills lower primary by EPH
I have the Challenging English 4-in-1 too. This is my personal opinion with 2 kids in lower & upper primary. Son is in P5 and time is rather tight, so it's more time efficient to give him a all-in-1 to do. But I have separate cloze, comprehension and synthesis to strengthen these areas. Will go through the books and plan daily work for him every morn.

For my gal in P1, I do individual subject/topic with her everyday...for eg Comprehension on Monday, Grammar on Tue etc. Can't give her all-in-1 as I have to sit beside her to teach and accompany.

Hi Plum-Cake,

My boy is in P1 this yr and I am having difficulty in teaching him, though I have assessment for English & Math but nothing for Chinese. Could you advice what should I do as my husband is not in favour of getting tutor for now although I have a good offer....... :?:
My daughter in P1 has CL tuition bcos I find it hard to teach her...but I coach her for her CL spelling. It so happens my older boy has tuition, so I got the tutor to teach her as well.
Hi,

My son don't really know how to draw models to solve Maths question.. is there any good Maths assessment/ guide book or method which i can help him to on modelling method...

Hi Taurus,
Can also consider Fan-Math Heuristic & Model approach OR Fan-math Models as a tool. Both books are by Li Fanglan. I used them for my DD and she really enjoyed learning models with stickers which represents all the bars in model drawing.

Hi Tinkerbelle,

I ask my dd to draw the models... cos to practice drawing, and for exams you have to draw...no stickers
Hi Plum-cake,

Ha ha...very true!! The stickers were a fun way to introduce the concept of models to DD. Now that she has a better understanding of models, she's happily drawing models with her models ruler. She feels so grown up as she can be just like DD1....can upgrade to models ruler. She wants to know when she can use the compass??

Hi champion,
Just curious, after going through all the assessment books, which one did you end up buying?? πŸ˜‰

Hello,
I got Science P3/4 Lower Block for my gal - can't remember the title (as I was more concerned with the content in the book) πŸ˜„ .

Got a Chinese Assessment Book too for her - Yea, this one I can remember because I stood there like almost 20 minutes to read through every page  ε°δΈ‰εŽζ–‡ζ―θ―Ύε€δΉ  - ζ€‘ε¦ε‡Ίη‰ˆη€Ύ. Author:ι™ˆε²©. I like it as it has the η”Ÿε—ζ–°θ―θ‘¨.

Hi Champion,

Thanks for sharing. Will check out this series for P2.
