P1 my sch did the assesments using my pals math test book. sa1, sa2 are the school papers. For model I am using Fan math i-excel model as atool to teach and prob solving process by Fabian Ng, visible thinking to practice. keeping the andrew er, math 456 for may, oct revision...Hi plum-cake,
Daughter will have formative assessment every term in P1-2...but at P2, there will be a SA2.
As for P1 this year, there will be a CL oral in hanyu pinyin.
Models will be taught at P1...advisable to get the girls to start using it when solving questions so that the teaching marking can allocate marks along the way.
I find that P1 syllabus has been brought forward from P3. Son only learnt models in P3 (that is rather late). In short....

The Conques science P1/P2 comes as one book for use for lower primary levels. It exposes the child to basic concepts covered in P3. DD enjoys doing it. I learnt my lesson with DD1....I didn't expose her to sci in P2 and in P3, she struggled for her science CA1. Luckily, she picked up subsequently. So this time round, thought I'll expose DD2 a bit earlier...
Con.science got p1 as well..mmmm how did I missed it... thanks guys...janet_lee88:
If you have time, it's not a bad idea to get the Conquer Science P1-2 to introduce Science, esp if going to P3 next year.

Thank you Tinkebelle,
Hi plum-cake,
I saw \"Adventures in English\" for P2 at Popular Bishan. The assessment book covers all components of a typical exam. Bonus is, it includes 20 examples of picture compo and 5 oral pictures and what to say for each pic. If you have time, can check it out.
I will chk that..

I agree with you...the Primary sch syllabus seems to have been brought forward. I also notice DD2 learning more than what DD1 did when she was in P2 a few years back. -

Thanks Janet,janet_lee88:
Hi plum-cake,
I have no idea if the Conquer Science will be avail at Expo but if you have the time this year to introduce Science to your P2-going on-P3 child, get it instead of waiting till BookFest in Dec.
My girl came with all the books n workbooks to prepare for the ca1. I am having a panic attack.. got to do all the papers this weekend
Good luck to your DD with her first CA1. :ugogirl: -
Hi plum-cake/Tinkerbelle,
I agree with you that Science is not an easy subject to pick up.
Although my son enjoyed Science and did well in P3, I would not dare say the same for my daughter…will get Conquer Science P1-2 when there is discount…I’ve bought the Conquer Science P5-6 for my son.
Shaping Maths is really not bad…will continue with it for P2 for weekly practice.
Plum-cake, you have Fan math, Fabian Ng, Visible Thinking, Andrew Er ??
I dare not get too many titles for P2, as hubby asked if there is time to finish this year’s P1 asssessment books.
But for son, I have Longman Maths Weekly, Shaping Maths for CA1, Step by Step for SA1 and Score in Math for SA2…and also Challenging Problems for weekly practice. -
My son P2 Maths teacher giving out muiltiplication/division problem sums for homework and wonder if it's normal or just super 'on' teacher.. ..thanks

After hearing what my hubby told me about P1 having to learn Models, nothing is surprising to me now. It's like P3 brought forward to P1. -

Hi plum-cake,
I hope the $$$ from Budget 2011 comes earlier...so that I can buy assessment books without waiting for 20%...spent quite a lot on son's Science reference last Dec..also need to replendish the Science assessment books for his SA1/2.
A number of forum mummies told me there isn't much time in P6, so I'm controlling not getting too many. Now that I've got Visible Thinking P6, should be sufficient
