Anyone know for P3 next yr, the reallocation of class is base on what?

No ide. They also seemed to have scraped the IMAS for pri 3 coz no briefing whatsoever. Do u know the new class yet? My son told me he will know tomorrow.

Since when was IMAS scrapped? Do this year P3 go for IMAS? My kid P3 next yr... So don't need to stay back once weekly for IMAS programme? I thot it'll be good for them to learn some skills outside their curriculum such as IT, arts. Why scrap it? The school should have informed parents and gave its rational for the change. Does that also mean the teachers have more spare time now?

Btw, I can't believe today my child still havn't got back report book (file)!

Last year they had a briefing for the P2 parents to tell them that ImaS will start in P4. p3 will try out all the prog to see what they are good at. But this year, they totally neglect to inform us on what is happening.

They didn’t even bother updating their website! the last briefing slides were from 2011! It is so misleading! After the new principal came onboard, everything is in chaos. No direction given.

Are u sure no change of class for P2. My P2's teacher told them of their new classes next yr, individually, yesterday. but never tell them why the split.

P1 and P2 will be the same class. From P3 onwards, pupils will be spilt in different classes. My dd's class will get back their report book today. At the same time, teacher will tell them their new class in P3.

We can discuss in KS forum once we know our child's new class for next yr. Usually those top students (ie 1st, 2nd, 3rd) in each class will go to the same class in P3? My dd won't be in the best class though, her results only so-so.

Is this the same practice in other schools? IMO, streaming based on P2 results are too early for the kids. And being streamed twice just in primary school, is there a need?

We really need a detailed update on primary school education system wrt streaming. Is it available in MOE website?

Yes, they are streamed like last time EM1 and EM2. 3 classes each.

So P3 classes will be streamed according to academic results

Asked the teacher lah. But within each category, they will be randomly put in different classes. So main thing is just whether in the good classes or the not so good classes. Think if results so long as above average, will go to the better classes since there are 3 of each.
