hi there. newbie here. and my gal is due for P1 registration this yr. been to TV, AMKPS thread but seems like this thread is the most active! Am still considering TGPS or TV as TV is nearer to my place.

      Hi Ahpeng

Welcome to the thread. Hope you find valuable information here. Have you visited the school? You may be able to finalize the school after you have a chance to talk to the teacher and the principal there. Other consideration such as school hours, CCA offered and the environment might be important too. Or may be your DD has preference if you bring her along to visit the school πŸ˜„

All the best in your school hunt. Let us know if there is anything that we parents here can help you to answer πŸ™‚

          Hi Ahpeng74,

Welcome to the TGPS Thread and wishing you a Prosperous Lunar New Year.

Most of the parents here, whom are due for 2012 P1 Registration, are considering these few schools in AMK, so it's good to look around (online) and get the \"feel\" of the kind of questions you may face in near future. TGPS/TV are located within walking distance from the few HDB blocks in this area, so naturally, options are open to these 2 schools. πŸ˜„

As usual (Standard advice πŸ˜‰ ) visit the schools on their respective open house dates and get to know the school enviroment better.

All the best to the upcoming registration and please feel free to dropby the forum to share any of your experienced. We welcome all as we are all learning from each other as our children progress in their journey. πŸ˜„

          Regards,
          Astee

            Hi mng_kl

we are on the bishan side..but nearer to Marymount Road, so the schools within 1km are CH, TGPS, TVPS & AMKPS. Hv u heard any reviews abt TVPS? seems very little info on this school...

Wishing all the mommies on this thread a VERY HAPPY & PROSPEROUS CHINESE NEW YEAR! ζε–œζε–œοΌοΌ :rahrah:

            Hi tanglin,

A co-worker of mine has her kids in TVPS also. Heard from her that TVPS has a change of principal (or vice-principal) just a few years back. The school is making progress. Her kids quite happy there. She told me that one the first few weeks, the school will actually give an update to the parents on the progress of the students. I am not sure if this is still practice now. May be you can go visit the school to see if you like what you see.

TVPS was on partial session last year. Not sure if it is going to be move to single session soon. If that is one factor to consider, you may want to find out too.

Hi Tanglin / Astee & all parents in this thread:

            GXFC!

Well, as I know all Primary Schools will soon be only 1 session by 2016. As for TVPS is still on 2 sessions.

Tanglin, if you wish to 'hear' more abt TVPS, you can go to their thread.
In TGPS' thread, the parents are more active; DH also impressed by the TGPS' website!

                    Hi Astee,

Did u sign your kids up for CCA? DS signed up for scouts and sport & wellness this year. But only this week, I called up the school only found out sport and wellness is opened for upper primary this year :-(. Seems like there is some communication gap at the school lately.

                      Hi Rejoice,

My DS said he wants to go for Badminton and the CCA starts in Term2. I am trying to delay any CCA involvement this year as the new schedule just set in and need time to get used to new routine.

                      Regards,
                      Astee

Hi, just to share this with the other parents who are planning to visit TGPS and Townsville.

It was very easy to make an appointment to visit TGPS. The person who answered the phone was helpful and polite.

Townsville on the other hand does not allow visitors to enter the premises except during open house. I was told that there was no point to visit as no one would be there to talk to us. No exception too if you are unable to make it on that day. Unfriendly and snooty.
