Actually I can't wait to know what class she goes in as I am anxious to know if she happens to be in the same class as her k2 friends. Guess I have to wait until 7 November.Hi Beauty,
Orientation Program starts at 9am. So you go earlier to collect child name tag n forms. Must have bank acct number for Giro appln but i guess can submit to office on any other days. The assigned class is on the name tag and the child will wear it on that day.
On orientation day, bookshop open till 12pm only and uniform sales till 3pm.
By the way, my DS is in 1Bravery. Confirmed not according to registration numbers as I was over reg number 200 when registering - maybe numbered 1 to 8 and all the 1s go to class A, etc etc. Anyone else? -
:salute: Hello everyone,
I'm back here to yak after my busy schedules and more to come next  !
DH and I went to fill up the forms last Fri. DD will be in 1Faith (reg no. slightly over 100), House: TBC.
We were told:
1) books can order online and either pick up later or pay $9.80 for delivery
2) we can go to Toa Payoh to order the uniforms, anytime any day during their business hours
3) there will be 2 PE sessions a week BUT there will be enrichment class that require to wear PE attire
Beauty79, if you can, try to fill the forms before 7th as I could foresee the chaos on that day!
I'm excited for DD :boogie: -
Hi hi,
The school has not passed the profile form to me via DS1 :(. Now wondering which class he will ended up in. Hope to join one of your precious. -
Hi to all,
Just chatting and got some advice from colleagues on P1 day one. Was told to observe their daily routines and discuss with child at end of day on standard procedures. Like what happens if not enough money for recess, what happens if no one fetches you after sch. Wow seems like many things to think through :). In the adult world, this is called debrief exercise ha ha. -

My DD is very excited about going to the school to see friends and classmates in the Orientation Day. I will be filling in the admin forms on the day itself, before the orientation start. Hopefully she can feel comfortable sitting in a big classroom with all her friends.

Hehehe, the parents are more excited than the kids on P1 day one;-p. For my DS1 case, he was very blurr when I asked him about school days on the first few weeks ;-). He only remembered his teacher and school song. Hahaha. Actually he still blurr till today, hahaha. I often needed to write to his FT in email to double confirm. The first learning journey was nerve racking as I worried DS might got lost and could not come home. Hahaha. He actually got lost on the 2nd learning journey.
So take it easy, parents. The kids are very flexible and can adjust to primary school life faster than we know. Just let them have fun and enjoy schooling and they will do just well. Cheers -
Hi Rejoice / Astee,
Can check with you if the chinese character cards are used in class or only for home revision usage? Or varies with Chinese teacher's teaching style?
Was contemplating of not buying as I use more of texts and don use much of flash cards really. Can spend the $8 on a proper chinese assessment book instead....
Thanks for sharing  -
Are the flash cards compiled by the teachers or the commercially made ones?
-
The character cards are in the compulsory book list. By Marshall publisher. A set for book A and another for book B. Not that i want to save that $8 but more of whether money is well spent
There are 2 pages to the book list - one side compulsory the other side optional on exercise books and stationeries.
