      Dear all parents of TGPS,

      Firstly - Wishing all a Happy 2013 !!

Secondly - Enjoy the first year of TGPS Learning Journeys with your DD & DS. I am in my 5th and 3rd years respectively and still everyday i learn new things. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thirdly, we are here to share our experienced with all new and \"senior\" parents, so please feel free to contribute your ideas and we can always bring it forward to the school for area of improvement or compliments. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Mng_KL, thanks for the \"bows\" and honestly, without all the Q&As, this forum will not be so lively and spontaneous, so keep it all coming.I know as new P1 parents, there will be more Q&As along the way.

Last but not least, good luck to all the P1 kiddos and i know they will be independent really soon. :imcool:

      Regards.

Haha. Finally survive the first day of school. No crying P1 kids this year and the parental talk is quite lively and interesting. I did learn a trick or two.

DS2 commented school is very fun tonight. I hope it stay this way. As usual, the teachers have collected most of the books. So tomorrow my boysโ€™ bags will be light as feather, hehe. Really gladful for the school to be so thoughtful.

So how were other kiddos doing today?

Hi concern_mum, I wanted to give DSs banana for power break but they are having some cough now so canโ€™t have banana. DS2 lost his front teeth so canโ€™t really take whole apple. So at the end I bought them Soyjoy bar instead. They seem to like it. I would musle bar might be good too. Hope that help.

My DD loves fruits so I will be packing different ones like apple today, grapes tomorrow. Btw, just to check with the parents here if the kids are to be in PE attire for PAL?

            Hi Beauty,

Yes the kids wear PE for PAL. So plus PE, you will need two sets of PE attire. I like that cause I donโ€™t like to iron :-).

            Hi all,

Finally done with so call parent duty for P1 today. Tomorrow will be the big test for the P1 kids where they will be dropped off just by the gate. Hope they all do well tomorrow :-).

              Hi Astee,

DS1 mentioned that the 3D FT has changed on the first day of school. This time is an Indian lady who taught in 2E last year. Amy feedback from your DS?

                Hi Rejoice,

Yes, i heard her name is Madam Anu, i didn't get the full name ๐Ÿ˜‰ Guess we will have to wait for the teacher's introduction letter once things are more settled. They have a tentative time-table and subject to changes.

Can't help but noticed that school also quite KS, giving CA and SA timetable on Day 1...haha. Really one of the rare one that communicate IMPORTANT DATES to parents way in advance but i am not complaining.

Today MT teacher already giving written homework too. ๐Ÿ˜„

                regards,
                Astee

                  Hi Astee,

Glad I read your post now. DS did not even mention about homework :-(. Asked him just now then he said Ah. :slapshead: looks like having parent support group at KSP is good. And I need to check his work more thorough next time. Haha.

Somehow this year's meet the parent is rather early in end Jan. in the past it used to be at end of term one. I wonder if there is change of policy and what the teacher going to say given only less than one month to observe all 30 to 40 kids.

Asked DS about the FT. So far his comment is good. Let's see when the gear switches higher and if the kids still enjoy the school. Haha.

                      Hi Bluebellas,

Strict is good. Like the VP said strict out of love, hahaha. Heard normally schools will put good teachers in the academic class. Not sure if it is the case for TGPS. We will see on 25 Jan during the meet the parent session ;-).

                        Hi rejoice,

No worries, today your son forgot his HM, tmor will be mine turn...so we help each other to keep track of their HM schedule. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I believe the upcoming meet-the-parents session is like the kopi-session for P1, it's a general meet up for all the parents to know the school directive, that's why there are 2 timings. My DD told me it's not the usual 1-to-1 PTM that takes place at the end of the terms. ๐Ÿ˜„

I saw the new FT photo at the school board and she looks pleasantly sweet, not sure if she is strict. will get to know more when PTM time or LJ session.

                        Regards,
                        Astee
