Jan74, I am also doing the registration this year for my son. After going to open house and school tour, my son decided to go to Teck Khee Pri which is a walking distance from my house. I think the distance plays an important part too and your child’s interest. Different school is strong in different area.

Hi all, I am considering TGPS for the upcoming registration and would be most grateful if anyone would advise the following:

(1) Are P1 students informed about their class allocation before Orientation? What was the orientation program like last year?
(2) Anyone knows what is the rough school bus pick-up and drop-off time at Bishan? Does school bus fetch children back on days when there are CCAs?
(3) Does the school offer higher chinese at P1?
(4) Are there regular parenting seminars provided by the school?

1. My Child in p3. Years back random class allocation done n pin name tag issued on form filling day in Sep Oct where parents are to report to fill in some forms. Students orientation in Nov back then.
2.Lessons start at 7.45am n students report at 7.25am. Think if cca ends at 3.45pm got sch bus arrangements. Occasional enrich programs that ends after 3.45pm normal sch letters will state no sch bus.
3. P1 term 1 all CL in same class using CL texts. No HCL texts. Term 2 minor streaming to pull out the weaker n stronger students to join other classes. Very minimal changes - around 5 from each gp.
4. Many parenting seminars organised by PSG gp as they have funding from \"family matters\" but seminars norm in weekday morning when kids in class so not so much for working parents.
