Phase 2A(1)
- You are a former student of your preferred school, and have signed up as a member of the alumni association before 1 July 2018 (i.e. 1 July of the year before registration).
- You are a member of the Advisory or Management Committee of your preferred school.

I am a ATS alumni and considering if I should pay for the $500 membership.

I am currently staying outside 2km.
If i pay for the membership and qualify for phase 2A1, will my distance of outside 2km be considered?
Is membership vintage considered during the 2A1 process as well?

Also, is SHHK member better if I am also considering nan chiau pri for my boy?

Alumni 2A1 don’t need volunteer (2B). Better get Alumni status. >2km should be fine

For ATS alumni:
Membership vintage - not considered.
Membership volunteering - not required.
Distance is a consideration at every phase. Notwithstanding, there has never been a ballot for Phase 2A1. Phase 2A2 has balloted a few times for > 2km. Therefore, saving $500 vs risk of balloting is something you would have to think about. Note: you have to sign up as a member at least 1 year before registration.

For SHHK, you can only pick one school and can only register in Phase 2B. For NCPS, you have to be living within 1km of the school. You will have to sign up as a member as least 2 years before your P1 registration. In addition, you have to contribute 80hours of PV time as well as keep up with your SHHK membership dues. After all that, it’s still not a guaranteed place because you have to ballot with the rest of the < 1km applicants. That said, it’s better than being in Phase 2C
