We have no problem putting the buttons into the washing machine. Have been doing the last 6 yrs. And without using net.

No, the shine won’t be lost. Only the ring at the back slightly rusty but not an issue.

The washing machine also didn’t spoil.

            Hi Daddies and Mummies

anyone staying in Tampines whose kids in CHS and take sch bus to sch? Approximately what time will the bus arrive to pick up the kids? Thanks!

            Hi

I'm staying in Tampines and my son will start P1 next year.
I've called the school bus company and they told me for Tampines area, pick up time is around 6am.
Are you a SAHM or are you enroling yr son to student care?

            Hi Hi!

I'm currently self-employed and my working hours are pretty flexible at the moment, so I exploring my options first.

Bus at 6am like very early wor... My ds sleeps like a pig... Sigh...

Anyway, if I can, I'll send and pick him up from school.

              careermum,

thank you! i will sew the buttons onto the shirt then.
even though it is only 3min to put on the 7 buttons with the rings, it is a hassle as u gotta do it each and every time 3x a week (sometimes you are in a rush or if you forget to do it)!

                Hi,

My piglet ds1 is due for P1 registration in 2013. We are likely to relocate to China for my husband’s work early next year for at least 2-3 years. I’ve been advised to enrol son first (hubby’s an old boy) and apply for leave of absence so that son has a guaranteed place in the school. Do I have to specially fly back to Singapore to do the registration and apply for the leave?

Has any CHS parent gone through a similar experience? I’m concerned about whether son can cope with the rigours of the curriculum, especially if he joins only from P3 or P4 onwards?

i do not think u have to fly back just to apply for the leave of absense (u have to do this yearly for a nominal $ sum). just write in to CHS. i registered for my ds’s P1 online as we were overseas last year (ds is in P1 this year). easy for us cos my hubby is an old boy and in the alumni. we relocate back to sgp just last month and even tho only P1, i notice the difference (in homework workload) as compared to an international school which my ds attended overseas. i can only imagine it will be worst from P3/P4 onwards? i also understand that ur kid need to take tests when u enter from P3/P4 as the school will need to ascertain if your kid is of the school standard level or they may retain your kid by a year (check with school on this as this is what other friends told me previously and i do not know how true it is and may differ from school to school)…

Thanks, nukewind, for sharing. Yikes...just when I thought we could avoid all the stress of balloting by registering under the 2A1 phase, hubby dropped bomb on me with the going overseas news. Will need to check with the school about entrance tests. I suppose on top of ds1 attending school there, I'll have to do some home schooling, Singapore style. Am wondering if other parents have had sons who entered the school in the middle of primary school years after returning from abroad, and how they coped? Super intensive enrichment classes so that the child would be well prepared for PSLE? 😓

                      hi all,

can i check what is the pace like in the school compared to other school? is it fast pace? what is the typically day like? do anyone stayed at buangkok area (sengkang) have kid going to catholic high primary? is it very far and inconvenient? i dun own a car btw..thanks, it will help in my assessment for the school for my kid..

                      Hi
my DS is in P2,i find the pace faster then many sch i know but not too fast for our boys to follow. If u r a SAHM,u can keep a close watch on their weekly spelling n ting xie, good thing i dont have to deal with much homeworks else my poor son wont have chance to play after whole day of sch 😄
I Live in Buangkok,my hub sends him to sch, they leave around 645 but if u dont have a car,be prepared to wait for sch bus at 620am!! thats the time they quote me when we had our orientation,he got home around 3pm!! I stopped the sch bus after 2 months as he just spent too much time on sch bus and too hungry by the time he's hm...I decided to take bus 88 to fetch him everyday plus extra motivation to do well for my driving lessons n test...so after i got my license,im now he's personal chauffer an d we are home by 230 after lunch in sch :rahrah:

hi: my family is relocating back to sgp from overseas, and my boy will be in the P1 class beginning next month. i plan to drive him to/from home daily. i've read here the best place to drop him off without much traffic (pemimpin gate :). how about pick up at 1.45pm after school dismissal? can i know the best way to pick my boy? is there any pick up points?

                        Hi nukewind
drop off yes Peminmin gate is the best as for collection, most park at MSCP next to sch and wait at the side gate, guard will open gate at 140..we relocate back from Germany b4 my DS reg for P1 🙂 you?
