Hi parents,


I am Greg, a 3rd year Mass Communication student from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Recently, my friend told me that her father volunteered for St. Hilda’s Primary School as a security guard more than 10 years ago. As a result of his contribution to the school, both my friend and her brother was able to secure a spot in St. Hilda’s Primary School.

She did not know about this until a few years back when her mum told her.

Hearing this story really inspired me to want to shed light on the amount of effort parents put in for their children’s education.

I want to make a video which documents the contributions parent volunteers make such that their child gets into the school of their choice. Other efforts such as moving into the vicinity of the desired school or joining an affiliated organisations just so that your child gets into your desired school would also help make a compelling and heartwarming story.

which cca is that aloyboy? I am really hoping to lobby for an arts class. I think my DS most likely will go on to Sphere as he is not sporty and although i join him up for violin, he hates it. He is really keen in the arts so I am abit peeved there is no arts class. I have never heard of a school that does not do an arts club. How come it does not even have any clubs?


Well noted on the softball cca - thanks for that! I am not sure if he will like the strings ensemble. He has been learning the violin for about a year without any concrete results. He can’t sing or dance either. I really can’t see anything else other than sphere or cub scouts for him.

Hi socute, also noticed that u are at siglap. my boy reached home ard 4pm the first 2 days.

I think the school’s bus company is trying to make adjustments. We stay 2 MRT stations away and last week, my boy arrived home after 3! When I asked, they explained that many parents were fetching their kids by car last week and the departure time was a little crazy and jam packed. Then over the weekend, we received a message that they changed the driver and bus for my boy and starting yesterday, he comes back before 2.30 which I am happy, knowing that the bus sets off only around 2 pm after gathering all the kids.

I did not put my son on school bus as the morning pick up is crazy earlier @ 5.50 and estimated return trip @ 2:50pm. Currently, I fetch him myself.Hence,I am looking for carpool. Please PM me if you are keen.

First day school dismissal I was there. No parents car was not allowed to entry into the car porch under the capel as late as 2:20. All the school buses still in the chaos to gather all kids.
