I'm new here, and i'm interested in enrolling my son to SAPS. He's K2 this yr, so meaning he will be in Pri 1 next yr. I have a few questions to ask and hope parents here can help.

1) I'm staying in Bukit Batok Central (near Westmall shopping center) and i know that from the distance, i'm not within the 1km range, meaning i'm in the phase 2C. But i'm a catholic, will that bring me to Phase 2B?

2) I noted that SAPS had been relocated temporary to Jurong, for all those whose children are schooling there, how do you arrange for the transport? Do you arrange for school bus, or will the sch be arranging for the transport?

3) For schoolbus wise, like to know the rough estimate from Bukit Batok to Jurong, how much do you pay monthly?

4) Do any parents let their children attend Kowabunga before and after sch? If yes, do the teacher help to bring your children to SAPS? How is the centre over there? is the teachers nice and pro?

Sorry for my long questions, coz i have to start planning. If my son really lucky to be able to have a place in SAPS, then i will have to decide on the trasnport and also which before & after school center to put him in.

Hmmm... seems that no one has replied you. I would try to answer some of your queries. Catholic can register during Phase 2B. There is a school bus that picks up the children at the school and send them to the temporary holding site. If I am not wrong, it is $40 but needs to be there pretty early. Hope this helps.

Replying, in case you have you have not found an answer for 2 onwards.

2. they have normal private bus and shuttle bus from the same company, Kevin Wong is the main contact (94766639). Shuttle bus only pick up kids from 3 locations, and all 3 are near permanent school area, so don't think it works for you. Call Kevin to arrange.

3. From Bt Batok Central, it is a 5 mins drive, but school bus will take a bit longer like 10 mins?

4. Kowabunga has decided not opening a centre near the holder school any more. Get one before and after school centre near your house and get Kevin to come to pick you kid via private bus.

Hi, is there anyone know if parents are allowed into the school to observe the kids who are attending their CCA training sessions, like badminton or taekwondo? Is there any regulation on recommended coach-student ratio for these CCAs?


My girl in P2 has complained to me that her taekwondo coach is not paying much attention to the girls. She told me that the girls were asked to do 50 kicks and yet the coach was not watching or correcting their posture. Her pride was hurt, that the coach show no interest in her effort, hence have been telling me that she wanted to quit.

Tried asking the form teacher through class forum re 1st question but no response from her while saw her replying question from another parent that sent after mine. What a disappointment.

Hi,

P1 school hours are from 12.45 - 6.15 pm.

They have to be in school at 12.20 pm for silent reading at assembly area.

They have 2 recess times.
First recess: 2.45 - 3.15 pm.
Second recess: 3.15 - 3.45 pm.
