I asked my DD abt her english paper and she told me that the teacher who was invigilating her class told a boy this \"XXXX, i can already see 3 mistakes on the 1st page!\"
How can an invigilator make such a comment = giving answer ( although not really lah).
Seems like it's really tough!
I'm wondering if my dd will fail her picture compo. The practices she did in school scored only like 5 or 6 marks.
Let's hope and pray
they do moderate the English paper.
You mean the practises there were score....i did not even notice that there were marks  -

According to my DD, the teacher made the comment after the child has submitted the paper.
Wonder when the results will be out....... better prepare myself mentally lest, i get a heart attack! -

Not sure whether I want it to be out so soon..... :|. The kids seem unfazed.....whereas the parents are more worried...perhaps they are still young and innocent...

I don't even want to think about the scoring yet. Just want to \"relax and enjoy\" a bit for tonight as there is no paper until next Monday.
I totally agree that the kids seem unfazed. All my son tells me is, \"I wish for the exam to be over quickly so that I can spend all my time playing\".

Maybe they had not gone through what is meant by CA, SA etc. The Ministry is trying to move away the exam system by removing it at the P1 & P2 level. -

I'm actually torn between having exams and not having.
While I agree it is unnecessary stress and the children probably do not understand the full meaning of a exam, it is still a good measure of how well the child is coping in school.
If they do it away totally in P1 and P2, I wonder if it is too late to only discover their standard only in P3. Afterall, most parents send their children to enrichment centres, this is also a good guage of how much they have been able to absorb. -

l came from a system where there are CA & SA since primary 1. Streaming start in P3 where the no good one were being put to P8 mono-lingual. The kids need to understand that test & exam are part of life in which to gauge how their standard are. When there is warning sign at least there could be remedy.
By doing away with exam & only P3 starting, let said the kids get 50/100 in all the 4 subjects how? There is little time to prepare them to PSLE. Personally I agree to βPumpβ them since P1 & therefore some enrichment course which could be necessary.
Just inform my DS that today Maths paper would be as hard like English, life canβt be always easy as you assume to be all the time. -
Good news, my DS said the Maths paper is easy than the english paper.
Still have 1 more paper for chinese on Monday!
