I was told by dd that the hands-on practical assessment for Maths, which will be on next Monday, is quite a diffcult one, as mentioned by her FT.
Yeah. My son told me they had to go to another room for the test, and had to do some \"experiment\" or something like that. -
Our kids will be having hands-on CA2 today, and unit reviews this week.

Wah at least your daughter what is a tangram. My son dont even know...
This is tough for Pri 1, i think we adults also have difficulty trying to piece a tangram back after it is given to us in many pieces. -

 tangrams = 10 grams?
:siam: -
Haha, qms, you're so cute...
i think it's like puzzles (my dd told me) the children are asked to place some shapes and fix them exactly into a bigger shape.
But i am more worried about the time section (i think they have mass, length, shapes, time and one more that my dd said they need to draw lines to match and colour...?? :? ) The question posed in this session goes like this:
Quote from my dd : John starts his homework at 1.00pm, he takes 1 hour to complete his english homework. He then takes a rest for 30 mins. He goes on to do his maths homework and he takes another 30 mins. WHAT IS THE TIME WHEN HE COMPLETES HIS WORK?
Parents, if what quoted by my dd is true, is this standard too high for P1?
I was like :!: when she told me!
According to the textbook, they have covered how to tell time by hour and half hour (o'clock and half past) are they setting these Qs to cream out the smarter kids?

blue-march, did your daughter actually tell you this question? I wonder whether all classes have the same questions. :scratchhead:
My son's question was quite similar to your daughter's. The difference was he was given the end time, and asked to calculate the start time.
You send your daughter for enrichment classes, right? So, if you think it is difficult for P1 standard, then, it should be very difficult for my son, who receives zero enrichment.

Anybody going for the Speech & Drama performance next Tuesday?
