Last year balloting was conducted for those staying within 1km. Chances were high though not guaranteed. Not sure about this year’s chances.

Thank you kwcllf & mummy of 2.
I am interested to put him into the student care within the school too. Is it recommended? If not, any other student care services around the area? How much per month? Are vacancies limited too?
I think my boy will not be used to being in school & student care the whole day cos he doesnt go childcare. Anyone faces the same? -

There is a student care within the school. A new operator. so, not sure about the quality or fees or vacancies. You can always go down to find out. I think there are other student care centres around the area as I was looking for them as well a few years back. My daughter is still in ZhangDe but she is old enough to go home herself now in P4.Thank you kwcllf & mummy of 2.

As with regards to academic achievement, I don't think the school is really doing that well. But, as in this thread, some parents seem to be happy to put their children in ZhangDe. Think really depends what you really want.
They always emphasise on the school's \"happy learning environment\". Yes, that is important but ultimately, parents will want their children to have good academic results comes PSLE. Personally, I think the school can do better (in fact much better). -
Hi kwcllf,
Yr daughter in P4 complain about having lots of homework ? My DS complain he has lots of homework everyday. His form teacher will scold them if they can’t finish their homework. -

No. In fact, I find that homework is sorely lacking.Hi kwcllf,

Other than Chinese, which the teacher gives consistently, and that is the only thing I am happy about.
My DD said her teachers gave them homework and she mostly complete them in class and handed up. This should not be the way as class time should be for teaching and NOT doing homework.
May I know which class is Ds from. PM me if you don't want to put on public domain. -

So, are you saying that the teachers don't teach enough? :scratchhead: -
qms:
Yes. Classroom time should be for teaching and not doing homework. Class time is important for reinforcement of concepts learned and for students to clarify doubts.kwcllf:

Did you compare the rate of progress (i.e. the syllabus and how much the teachers have covered over a period of time) with others? Could it be due to the fact that the teachers were ahead of schedule?Yes. Classroom time should be for teaching and not doing homework. From What I can see, No. The teachers are not ahead of schedule. In fact, I hardly see any problem sums being given, or taught how to solve. This is very worrying. At this stage, they should be learning to solve maths problem sums and the techniques used.

Also, for Science, there is hardly (almost NO) homework. Usually, I only see some Science homework given when it is near CA or SA. I will really need to feedback to the teacher, if not the school on this.
