Hi
My son Tim is in Adaptability too. I’m Joyce. I’ve met Jeanie, but not anyone else so would be great to get to know more parents. See you at the forum. -

I am just wondering if the other classes were told to change the exercise books. If it was a mistake in the book list, why did the school not highlight to pacific books to correct the mistake. My order was delivered rather late in Dec so they had almost a month to change it out. Or alternaively, the school could have sent out an email to inform parents of this mistake. I have written DS's name and class on the books so no way to exchange.
Anyways, just in case really cannot use these exercise books, I have given DS some money and told him to go to the bookshop to get the correct ones. Hope he can sort it out, else gotta find time to make a trip just to get these exercise books.
Or maybe we should get the form teacher to help bring the kids to the bookshop and facilitate the purchase or exchange since they are only P1s, still blur blur. -
Hi hi everyone
Think it’s correct to have the single lines instead of the broad ones.
Happened to be informed by a parent during orientation day while queuing up to buy the books. So had it sorted out earlier. Some classes’ form teachers actually inform parents to change during the teacher-parents interaction during orientation.
Had initially thought only certain classes using single line. -

Yah that's why I was wondering why not just do a mass email to all P1 parents to change instead of the teachers telling class by class and what about those parents who were not at the orientation.Hi hi everyone

For DS's class, 1/2 the time me and DH could not hear what the teacher was saying and also we were kinda distracted by so many other info so may have missed out this bit of info. Thereafter, I heard something to that extent but could not verify so did not make the change. -
My girl is in Adaptability. The teacher took the plain coloured word cards.
The exercise books (broad line) were left in the bag but no instruction to change them. Have also written name and class on them so cannot exchange them.
Guess just gotta wait for further instructions from the teacher.
Btw, for mommies who are going to the school bookshop do go to the school website and check the opening hours. Apparently only certain times are parents allowed to go buy stuff. -
Funz.
same here.
Colorful cards not taken. Ex Books have to be narrow lines - i just found out. I went to bookstore just now it was not open. Opens after 145pm on M/T/Th. but i have meeting later so can’t go .
DD also told me no more recess buddy. Also No PE also even tho’ timetable has PE on Monday. She also said she was told by a teacher she can’t have noodles at recess, jjust take a light snack so she’s been starving!
I dont know what’s happening. Am definitely going to find out at parents’ forum. -

Yah for working parents a bit difficult to find time to run down to get the exercise books. So will send an email to the teacher to suggest that she facilitate that for the kids.
Why cannot have noodles if the kid can cope? The school bus that DS is on is rather inconsistent in his drop off time. Told us about 2.05pm but DS got home only at 2.30pm most of the time. By then the kids will be starving, considering that their breakfast is taken before 6am. -
sunflowerseed, can you pm me the form teacher’s email add? The one I pulled off the school website keeps bouncing back. Thanks!

Funz.
call the GO and ask them to ask Teacher to call you - faster than email.
She called to clarify with me.
Ex Books - must be narrow lines. Ask me to pass money to her tmrw and get her to buy at bookshop. Else I'll be going down on Fri for forum anyway so I can always get it then.
word cards - many not labelled so teacher did not take them. She says when lockers are ready, she will ask them to bring so keep at home.
handbook is given out today - your DS would have entered what to bring - basically all the folders and folios - if you can't bring on one day - split into 2 batches, and bring one tmrw, one on wed.
Chinese teacher also gave a list - chinese textbooks - must bring everyday.
chinese spelling starts on week 3.
english spelling also starting not sure when - list was given out during orientation.
check yr child's handbook
Hope this clarifies!
