Hi natalie_lim2012,
There are no exams for P1, but there are tests. There is actually a letter for P1 sent by the school admin on the tests dates. Other than tests, there are listening comprehensions, reading accuracy record & also show and tell who are also weighted. And it has began since 1-2 week ago.
You can refer the dates from the letter in the website:

Which class is your daughter in? As for spellings, I think need to spend some time to let your daughter go through & learn. I think enrichment classes won't help in that, and some enrichment classes also have extra spelling apart from the school.
Hope this helps!

Hello everyone, I am NEW here. Any recommendation for english & chinese enrichment class which your kids have attended? My girl is now in P1 but weak in both english & chinese subjects and scoring very badly in her spellings too. Is there going to be any test or examination in HPPS? So far, I did not hear anything from the school. Would appreciate if someone could provide info. on this.. T.I.A..

Hi all,
I received a Chinese enrichment course sign up for P1 level. Any feedback if it's good & wonder anyone knows how many students in a class & if it's effective?
It's by Yi Chen Culture Service Centre.
Hi i3mum,
I enrolled my DS a couple of years back in the same enrichment course by Yi Chen( DS is in P4 now). He did not seem to like it, they do a lot of reciting and memorising....I sent him back then just to occupy his time on Wednesday afternoons, is it going to be conducted on Wednesday afternoons as well for this year? Personally, i think sending your child to Chinese enrichment courses outside the school would be a better choice. I sent DS to Tien Hsia (CCK) and he liked it a lot, the teachers are great.
Hope this helps

My DS commented the class So-So, from what i recalled only received a booklet and it was chuck aside. I sent him then was because school bus arrived early in sch on Wed, hence just to occupy his time while waiting for the sch to start, hoping he can pick up some chinese words as well at the same time.i3mum:

My impression is next year onwards will be single session.
Maybe wait until month end for the release on the MOE website here: http://www.moe.gov.sg/initiatives/single-session/ -

If that's the case, rather disruptive for the p1, half yr AM, half yr PM -
Hi just888, thanks for the info.

Don't think is half year AM, half year PM. For next year confirm full year PM. But will move back to original school in term 3.
While for 2014, still pending single session or not.
