School don’t reveal info all the while

Based on a pool of p4 mummies , we concluded (might not be correct ).
5I meta, the kids were from 4J
HA classes shd be 5G&5H( if there’s only 2 HA), as the TOP 5 kids from current p4 cohort various classes are allocated to 5H,5G,5E &5D in sequence . So if ever theres3 HA classes be 5H,5Gn 5E. If ever there’s 4 be those 4.

If ever MA classes r 5A to 5F, 5F kids Chi seems to be the strongest follow by 5E n 5D.

However again these r just based on our own statistics of a pool of ard 30+ kids

Thanks so much for your reply. My first girl is in P5, so really clueless about class allocation.

Other than 5G and 5H, seems like 5E and 5D may also be HA classes since the top 5 are allocated into these classes.

Heard that in the HA classes, they are further split by EL, Maths and Science results too.

            Sorry typo

            5D n 5E shd swap.
Means if there’s 2 HA shd be 5Gn5H,
If there’s 3 shd be 5G,5H&5D( this part typo in my previous reply)
            If there’s 4 then be 5F, 5H ,5D & 5E

I was told they streamed by overall subjects to HA/MA 1st then
Within the HA classes they group by subjects.( not sure how accurate but seem like it )

5H shd be the class with high90 strong hcl kids among HA classes.
5F shd be the the class with strong hcl kids among MA classes.

Generally 5D kids maths n sci a nos of mid to high 90s. 5E is a nos of Low 90 kids for maths n sci . But 5E kids hcl seems better then 5D.

( **** but Again , this conclusion only based on our small pools of mummies, there’s 5D kids who don’t do as well as 5E kids also , so maybe there’s S curve )

So if the kids are sorted according to the abilities/scores, are they stretched differently from other classes?

Do the worksheets/exam papers and quantity of work given vary from class to class?

Seem similar to NYGH, quite specific.

Just curious and hope to hear from other parents, where would you want to send your child after NYPS? My daughter is considering either NYGH or RGS. Heard that NYGH is more intensive and culture similar to NYPS, but RGS is totally different system. What would you choose?

Each of us have our own reasons to which school we would like to send our girls to after NYPS. Take a close look at your daughter and consider which school environment would bring the best out of her. For one of our girls, we chose RGS because we think she would benefit from the exposure that RGS would bring to her: the diversity of students (e.g., different background, different races), the unique Raffles Programme, and the self-confidence that an RGS girl exudes. For another girl, we would prefer NYGH, because of her personality and disposition we think she would do better in a more strict, hand-holding, and conservative environment 😉

But many girls in NYPS also went to schools other than NYGH or RGS, e.g., MGS, St Nicks, NUS High, etc. by choice, as they feel that these schools offer an environment and curriculum that best suited to the girls' needs.
