Hi Winth,
Thanks for the valuable feedback!!!!
I am styaing in bukit merah and need to register my girl in next yr. I am trying to gather and understand as much info as possible.
But seeing the unexpected hot responses for a number of schools, I am worried, for next yr is pig yr for the kids and i think there are going to be more piggie kids next yr..... :xedfingers: -
Yes dino next yr even more kids u have to plan ahead!

Hi all RVPS parents,
I am also glad to learn that my son has qualified for a place in RVPS for 2013. Congratulations to all successful applicants. I look forward to co-sharing information related to school matters and childhood development with all of you here!
Cheers! -
Hi 5 to all who is joining RVPS next year too!
good luck to those who will be attending the balloting tomorrow, hope to see more new parents here -
My hearts are with all of you. No matter what the outcome maybe, do at least tell yourself you have tried your best a parent. Good luck.

Dino, here are my attempts in response to your questions:
a) Phase 2C balloting history (my data may not be accurate, some i gathered from the web, some from my own tracking)
2011 - 78 applicants for 69 places, balloting for those within 1-2km
2010 - 51 applicants for 42 places, balloting within 1km
2009 - balloting for those within 1-2km
b) RV used to be known for its MT chinese heritage. But i heard that the MT results have fallen in recent years. But the MT results are still good. Comparing PSLE results 2011 with Maha Bodhi (known to be strong for Chineses) for example:
% A*A % passes
RVPS 81.4 % 95.5%
MBS 89 % 99%
I hope this is helpful.

Any parents can advise on the school hours for P1? And also by what time muct the child reach school everyday?
Thank you -
My P1 child reaches school at 12.30pm and ends at 6.30pm. I’ve read many parents asking about the school. I was surprised that RVPS has streaming for their Chinese language even at P1. When the P1 children went back to school after the June hols, they were already streamed into Higher, Core or Bridging. I find this is quite early as the children barely started primary school.

Hi Pure Purple,Dino, here are my attempts in response to your questions:
a) Phase 2C balloting history (my data may not be accurate, some i gathered from the web, some from my own tracking)
2011 - 78 applicants for 69 places, not sure abt balloting
2010 - 51 applicants for 42 places, balloting within 1km
2009 - balloting for those within 1-2km

Thanks. Definitely useful. I really do hope my DD will do well in MT next time..... That's why I am concerned.....
The way things goes, I think high chance balloting at 2C within 1 km will happen for this yr and next yr as well......
hopefully everyone gets thru without balloting..... All the best to all trying for a place in the coming 2c...... :rahrah:
