      Tri-mum:
Hi Plum-cake and sharmum, any idea whether parents are allowed to be in school to \"peep\" at them during recess time on 1st day? :? I don't think this was covered during the orientation day, Ms Poey just mentioned parents who sent their DD to school can only \"drop n go\" at the gate and not entered in the school but how about the first day recess time? :?

Also after settling all the admin stuff, I forgot to walk around the tuckshop to check out the stall foods and the prices to determine how much I shld give her...Can anyone share what's the stall selling and roughly how much you will give her DD?
I think, I want to pack some snak for the recess time, in case she could not buy or finds difficulty in choosing the food. I don't want her to starve. at least up to ... she is cofident in buying 🙏

And through the fence you can peep her class room. right? I am not sure about going in. bcos of H1N1. last yr yes they allowed some parents  I was there as a p2b volunteer. I saw them coming in. any way I am planning to follow her on the 1st day

        Hi Plum-cake

Yes, so many counter to go right?

Not to worry, go thru the handout given during the orientation or letter from the school carefully. There should be a time-table on what to bring for 1st 3 days of school. Don't need to bring all.

For shoe is white school shoe, unless there's a change in the notice or can also call up the school to confirm.
Thanks to you! I found that..... but for the 2nd day only the jotter books n 3rd day the files only??? :?

I also abit puzzle about the 3rd day timetable....only bring the colour files? No books at all? Anyway, I believe teacher will remind the children what to bring when the lesson starts.

Yes, I'll also pre-pack some snack for her but would encourage her to learn from her buddy to buy food on her own first. The snack is juz in case or she can eat while waiting for school bus.

            Tri-mum and Plum-cake,

The teacher will give them the new (real) timetable on the first 3 days (paste in student handbook) I don't think there will be lesson on the 1st week as there are alot of orientation for the teacher to go thru with the student (Do and Don't )They are busy enough with all this and labelling of the files or books in different color for different subject. Jotter book's to keep them occupied drawing or coloring.

Yes, they're hungry at 1plus. My girl will eat on the bus and share or exchange food with her bus friends.....

my dd gets $2 (two one dollars coins) for recess. At first, she uses around $1 and put the rest in piggy bank. Now about $1.50 to $2. So far, I didn’t pack any lunch box for her as wanted her to get use to buying her own food in the canteen. Initially she ate only noddle soup everyday as her buddy started her on that…slowly move on to try others.

I think we are only allowed to peek on them on the first day of school……we went on the 2nd day of school, very few parents were there and was told to go home.

Finally , my girl got back her report book today - now very \"gan chong\" n going back to see the results cos not very sure of total marks for EL1 and CL2.......very stress waiting. hahahaha!

Btw - can anyone tell me how to post the smilies? Can't seem to work leh....=(

Hi ipsum24, how do you find your DD's form teacher? She will be my DD's form teacher next year 😉 I met her on orientation day and she is a young girl but never get any chance to talk to her because she was busy with the admin stuffs.

Hi Sharmum, when you post a reply, there is a Emotions icons on the left side, juz click them and they will appear in symbols/words ;wink: things like that. The icons will then appear on your sent message :hugs:

Not too sure if she will be the final form teacher for next yr...

Cos last yr during the orientation, the teacher in charge of my girl was Mrs Ong, but was subsequently changed to Ms Lin.

All I known is that she is the P1 teacher manager in charge.

Think the key pt for most student in P1 is the transition from a \"protected\" to a \"self\" independence mode. Teacher at this lvl is more of a \"guardian\" w less emphasies on teaching.... jst my 2 cents of thought . :?

Hi, other than the usual stuff like pencils, eraser, sharpener and ruler – and what’s in the school’s book/stationery list – is there any other stationery my daughter needs to bring?
