Han Lang follows rather closely to the MOE syllabus for P1. I chose Han as my son was on the wait list in several places like Berries, Tian Xia, etc. I live in CCK & so wanted a sch within CCK to avoid travelling around too much.

I am quite happy with Han Lang as some of the hypy & han zi spelling were almost similar to those given by the school. As such, my son was learning the ting xie concurrently.

Yes, zoo in Aug has been brought fwd to this Thu. I am 'afraid' of the parent notifications most. All the tests dates! Stressed out when I saw the notification yesterday.

      Hi

Hv you found out from your son the dates? Fyi, my son said Fri there is injection. Didn't get any notification on that.

Also, still no chinese spelling yet right?

Ok, I will try out Han Language. The one at Teck Whye?
My son only wrote the zoo outing and not the others that you have mentioned! Ah yoh...now I have to go ask my son abt it after work 🙂

Any parents out there have encounter any teachers in DLS being 'abusive'?

2 of my oldest children are there but I am not intending to put my youngest there next year. I do not find DLS a holistic learning school anymore. I have mummy complaining to me about her boy being smacked on the hand & hair pulled by the teacher. Recently, my boy encountered with the same teacher. Firstly, he forgot to bring his school homework that's his fault. The teacher called me. His first question to me was \"he did not do or did not bring\"? I told the teacher off for being judgmental. Then the other female teacher, started poking my boy's head becoz he forgot to bring! Apparently, for this lesson there is a female & male teachers. I am just gonna complaint to the office or even MOE.
Second incident, last week the mid & upper pri had their sports day. My gal came back & told me a teacher was so rude to them. 3 of them wanted to go to the toilet. Before they could open their mouth, the teacher said, \"shut up and go away\"! I asked her if she knew the teacher & she said no but he is definitely from DLS.
I wonder are these teacher creating more work for parents when the kids are already drowning in their daily homework, yet we have to do recovery for them! I hv spoken to old students from DLS and they are shocked such teachers are teaching there. As much as we are lacking in teachers, I believe MOE & the school should still be more restringent in selecting their teachers. And what more, a Catholic School! They should constantly reflect on their core values,
And parents can share what would they do given such situation.

Interesting that you shared about this. I have similar experiences about the school as well.

May I know if you have taken any actions?

Hi a few questions esp to parents of 1H.

Has the chinese spelling list been given? My boy kept saying no.

He wrote that there is health checkup and injection on Wed.

He also wrote that there is a library auditory test on Thur. Not sure what this is.

Also, how do you keept track of how much is covered each day? I always tried to go thru his work but he kept telling me this not taught that not taught. And that teachers sometimes dun follow the sequence.

There is a senior Math teacher, quite famous in school. It happened during rainy season and my girl need to take aircon school bus to school. She told me she is not allow to wear jacket to school as the Math teacher said only sick pp can wear jacket. My girl witness the male teacher opening shout at one of the student to force her remove her jacket at once. That happen when she was P2. Till today P4, she remember can't wear jacket to school.

                        Hi mummies,

Someone shd bring these incidents up to the principal. I agree if teachers are strict but I will not agree if teachers are using :"Shut up & go away." or shouting at the students, smacking the hand or pulling the hair. That’s abuse!
