Yew Tee Primary
-
hi,
Hope the first day of school went well
My son insisted on wearing a jacket over his new school uniform to hide the red tee. But later in school, he took it off as he realised there are quite a handful of his classmates are also in the new uniform. So glad that he has accepted the new uniform. :imcool:
I think they look good, esp with the black socks and shoes.

is it stress to study in yew tee primary school?
-
think it's too early to tell, but i believe there's a certain degree of stress in all Singapore schools
even the parents are stressed too. -
Hi mummies, my girl is in p5 this year, and out of 5 days, she had to attend two days of cca which start from 1530-1800pm b’cos she is in the school team and they are competing in the Syf competition. Sometimes, even sat also burnt. Then she has two days of enhanced curriculum ( for PSLE preparation) from 1330-1530pm and another day of 2hrs higher mother tongue from 1300-1430pm.
So, I guess you may say it is stressful.
The worst thing is abt the cca practices, typically she will come home at about 625pm b’cos they will need to help to pack up aft. Practice stops at 6pm. So, do discuss with ur kid and teacher when u r selecting ur cca.
It seems that the school is bent on getting a medal at the Syf competition that they ignore parent’s concern over long hour of practices and even pre-empt the kids from some other group activities.
I just hope that this Syf thingy will be over so that my girl can have some decent rest. -
Hi hi, Would like to connect with parents who have kids in P1 Integrity/Honeydew? Is there anyone out there?
-
Hi, does anyone know what is FTGP? It was reflected in the P1 timetable.
-
FTGP = Form Teacher Guidance Period

Hai, VinEveShan,
My girl is in P1 Integraty too, but dunno Monday ll allocate to others class or not?
her name is Shannen, what name is ur girl? -
Can someone please advise what would you do if your child’s form teacher is treating your child differently from all other pupils in the class?
For examples…
- The teacher gave all pupils a gift, except your child, in the class.
- The teacher doesn’t leave any message in the diary or contact you when your child failed to submit his/her homeworks on time.
My child enjoyed going to school in P1-P2, but he’s kind of depressed after promoted from P2, where he had a great form teacher who really care about her pupils’ learning progress and well respected by her students/parents. -
Hello, just 2 cents worth of my thought…
Maybe good to arrange with the teacher to meet face-to-face to sort out misunderstanding and listen to 2 sides of the story.
As for submitting homework on time, I personally feel parents play an important role in ensuring that homework are completed at home and if they’re not sure how to do it, just guide them along. What i’ll normally do is check with my daughter (who’s in P1 now) if there’s any homework to complete. Alternatively, browse through her schoolbag and see if there’s anything we need to take note of. Kids are still kids. They will remember and forget very swiftly.
