chickensoup, there are students from other schools who join the twinning class

Thanks. DIN. Any idea how they select the students from other schools?

Not very sure. But I think very likely those who got into second round and did quite well but not good enough to go GEP. BTW, my nick is DJN, not DIN, thanks. 😄
Meanning if NanHua student who past the first GEP run can go to the twinning class?

No, not all of them get in to the twinning class. But most of them who took the second round got in.

Heard Nanhua has reduced the no of twinning class to 1, only limited students can go in now.

So only the very good ones who just missed the GEP mark would get in I think.

That’s right. Nan Hua reduced the twinning class to one from this year onwards, so there are only 25 places available. Previously, there are 2 twinning classes or 50 places and some students who did not pass the GEP first round were also offered the program based on their P3 overall result.

As Nanhua only has 5 students cleared the second run, there should be a lot of good students who nearly miss the GEP. It must be very difficult to get into the twinning class now.

Do u know how many cleared the first round? Last year, about 60 cleared first round and 10+ went into GEP. So minus about 25 to twinning class, about 20+ went to 4E or F..

Actually the students were ranked in their performance in the GE second round by MOE and the list was passed to Nan Hua.
From there they selected the top 25 or so for twinning this year.

For the P5 twinning class next year they will take SS lessons on their own, not mixed with the GEP like before. Syllabus is still the same. Guess this will be better as SS is not really graded for twinning but is very important to the GE kids for their promotion to secondary GE.
