          2centsworthy:
          Hi forgetful,

Edu-Net is name of an enrichment centre... I believe based in Bishan bomb shelter. They would conduct Creative Writing, Challenging Math & Comprehension/Cloze classes in Nan Hua on every Wednesday. Like I said it is owned by the ex principal of Henry Park Ms Pauline Ong and she has a number of teachers (like 4) who are also retirees like her who would come by Nan Hua to teach. My personal opinion is that she is doing it more out of passion and dedication to her ambition rather than for the money. But I have no idea how it is where the standard is concerned but I would think it is value for money.

Nan Hua usually sends out the circular on their courses at the beginning of each semester... check with General Office for Edu Net number and call them to enquire more.
Thanks for your information. I did call them up. Spoke to a Mr Cheng. He told me they have been doing the enrichment for the past 14 years. My son is already in the enrichment programme. I will see how it goes, if my DS1 benefits from it.

          thanks!

They use this when they implement twining classes.

Tag 1 & 2 - mainstream classes who attend lesson with GEP pp other than Eng, Math & Science

              Tag 3 & 4 - GEP classes

I can help you. I am a student studying in Nan Hua primary school. Although I have only been there for about three months, I know pretty much about how the school works. Some classes are called tag classes. Here is some information about them: Tag classes are classes which contain GEP and Twinning students.
They learn a lot of extra information and more strategies used in exams than other classes.
Most of them have classrooms with better cupboards and most of their classrooms have aircon. :goodpost: :goodpost:

Anyone can provide advice on how to transfer my child to Nanhua? School Term starting next Jan. My child would be in P1 next year.

Try the school bus. There are about a total of ten buses. But I do not know about the fees.........

You can also take this public buses to nan hua.

                      hi parents,

we are choosing between Nan Hua and Pei Hwa for my son. It seems that though Nan Hua is a top school and has a beter ranking than Pei Hwa but the environment is better than Pei Hwa. Below are some points on Pei Hwa:
                      1. They stream students starting P1 every year till P5 and they are put into top to bottom classes where all students know which are the best classes and the worst. very bad for self esteem…
                      2. Among the top classes, a few marks difference will be able to downgrade to lower ability class. Very stressful…
                      3. Best teachers are allocated to the top classes and the middle esp lower ability classes often gets relief teachers and not so committed teachers…

Can anyone share about Nan Hua on above points cos I really find Pei Hwa too stressful…

                      Thanks

just to add on, just want to find out Nan Hua environment as compared to Pei Hwa, i.e. i saw on the past threads that streaming is done in P3, 4 and 5. want to find out if so-called top and bottom classes are known to students and if my child is not in top classes but middle or lower classes, do they still get good and caring teachers? So far, I only read about top 3 classes but seems like no differentiation in all the other classes?

Wonder when the new principal took over, is it now a more or less stressful environment.

Really need your advice in order to make an informed decision. Thanks!
