Within this wk I've checked out 2 BASC... I was very impressive & clean - Little Skool Hse @ Ulu Pandan CC. Cost $350/mth. It's with a child care. Now would be the cost of the school bus to get my daughter there. They seemed to be more pro & more open to parents bringing in private tutor if we want / we could sign up our kid for courses at the CC & the BASC teacher will take them there at the specified time.

Just visited Little Professor in Clementi Central Blk 443 - not impressive as compared to what I see in the website. What put me off were: 1) the toilet cum bathroom where the kids will shower & do their biz. Kind of dirty & there's only 1 for say.. abt 30 kids. I asked if they will allow kid to nap.. they yes if they finish their work... & asked where? on the desk where they will eat & do their work. Meaning that my poor daughter will prob be sitting on the same chair & use the same table for eating, homework & sit on the chair & put her hand on the table to sleep... cost is not cheap. $300..

The environment of the BASC in Clementi Student Care seems to be better. Cost $250. Add'l $10.wk for school hols.

Thanks for the reviews, Mama Windy! I'm sure parents will find it useful. For families with full time working parents, I definitely recommend sending kids to BASC starting P1. This will get the kids used to a regiment of studying before play, allowing parents to spend more quality family time with their children when they get home all tired from work.

            Hi P1 Parents,

How are things after 1 week of probabaly "chaotic" rushing here & there for your kid new start in Primary school?

As for me, took 3 half days off from work to chk on my daughter. My first in P1. So far, either than day 1 after school arrangement that was not too smooth, the rest was ok. School wise, so far so good.

Just hope that the canteen food can be cheaper. Food in canteen for Primary school, I thought would have been cheaper.

My cousin in Fairfield, Fish ball noodles @ $0.80. Pei Tong @ $1. And they sell drinks with ice (like Ribena). My daughter bought a glass on a rainy day - ice ribena. hmm!!! luckily she din finish it all as she din like it, she said, it’s not ribena but grape juice…

They sell those "onion ring chips" / "cheese flavoured chips" - ranges from $0.50 to $0.60 - my office, I could get them from the vending machine @ $0.40.

            Yakult @ $0.70 - 5 in a pack only cost $2.85 - making 1 @ $0.57. If school will to take in bulk supply, could be cheaper. y price @ $0.70. hmm??

Anyway, just told my daughter to get proper food. Drinks, snacks etc… mummy will get for her on our own.

Today, there’s a book fair, parents not encourage to enter school - wonder if my daughter can handle it?

                Hi AmyAmy,

This year - no CA1& 2 but SA1 & 2 remain. They have introduce PAL for P1 too. For my year, today they will start theirs… for first term, her class will be having "Art = Art Appreciation". I’m interested to know what they learn. Hope it’s interesting enough for the kids to expand their creativity.

I do pack food for her but still gv her some pocket money, just in case. So far, my girl loves goin to school.

                    Hi Mummies

Would like to get your feedback from Pei Tong. Aside from the expensive canteen food, how are the teachers and general culture of the school?

My DS starts school in 2012 and Pei Tong is the nearest to us. I’m very sian to do PV at the so called ‘better’ schools around here and I’m old girl from Ai Tong but it is so far away.

Please PM me if you are uncomfortable to comment here. Your honesty will be much appreciated.

                    Thank you.
