2818 - I am not so sure but I guess it wasn’t a problem for him cos his wife is actually a teacher at mee toh. In any case, I believe it is dependent also on the availability of vacancy in the receiving school. Then again, if the student’s results are very good, the school may still make an exception to accept even if there is no vacancy.

It’s best to find out more from both MBS and the receiving school on the procedure for transfer.

7788 thks for sharing…those points u’ve mentioned were exactly my concerns too. actually if the school bus only concentrate on Punggol/Sengkang area and then go by expressway, the journey is pretty short abt 15-20mins drive…so i pray that by the time i move into Punggol, the demand for school bus at Punggol/Sengkang area is sufficient to render a mini or mid size bus (like what MMM mentioned) then the bus vendor don’t need to combine with those staying at Pasir Ris or even Tampines area…if just concentrate Punggol/Sengkang then the route is very much shorter then kids dun need to suffer…

actually i hope MBS can change to single session soon, easier for me since i have 3 children gg to MBS and their age gap is like 2 -3 yrs so if MBS still double, i may have my gal at AM session and my no. 2 at PM session…if all 3 go same session maybe we can book a TAXI to fetch them all to/from school (cheaper than school bus)…or DH will be the chauffuer for all 3 of them…wow…more worth it…

Admum - Picking up the kids one by one by the school bus takes time. i am staying in Kembangan area and if my boy were to take a school bus to school, he would have to board the school bus (mini) at 6.20am cos the kids have to be in school by 7.10am. Can you imagine if the school bus comes from Punggol or Sengkang?

Hi, parents with kids in P3 or above, how is the workload in terms of homework in P3? Is/are there any days on which all students need to stay back? Thanks in advance for your responses!

Recent cases heard from parents at MBS…

2 different groups of student , P4 and 5coincidently were having the same break time last week, were fighting for their rights to sit at the given tables.
They are from 4h and 5h if not wrong. Hand signs, arguments and one of the P5 even purposely spill a bowl of noodle to dirty the table so that the junior could not have the table even though they are going to leave.

As far as I know, they have to share the tables as they only have A,B,C,D E F G H …TABLES ALLOCATING TO THE STUDENTS.
what if the same thing happen again?
What if the P6 and p3 have to use the same allocated tables? Sure the p3 will lose.
Are the discipline masters going to do something rather standing at the gate to ask the kids to raise up your hands when crossing?
Lots of things happen this schools, all schools… But how the teachers and d.m going to punish the big bully?

                      Hi csb,

                      Think I missed this posting.

So far P3 and even P4 homeworks appear to be manageable.

For my P3, he is in school band and badminton, so he stays back on wednesday (buddhist studies and malay), thursday (band) and friday (badminton).

Except for wednesday, the rest are CCA driven. For wednesday, I understand parents can choose to opt out of buddhist studies and malay. If so, kids do not need to stay back.

Not forgetting, some kids might have to stay back due to remedial lessons. But if your child is doing fine, then he/ she don't need to stay back.

                        shn,

Is your child in MBS? I saw that you started a bully thread so wondering if you are talking about MBS or another school or in general :?

I personally feel that bullies exist everywhere (even in the best primary school in Singapore) and regardless of age. But as parents, we need to teach the child how to handle them eg. through role play, situation analysis. \"Fortunately for us\", we have big sized kids so they are less likely to be bullied. On the other hand, bullying others is a big NO NO as well. So it starts with family education too.
