I let her sleep till 9am (as I am worried about her afternoon naps) but on wednesday she has piano lesson in the am. She has to start to get ready for school by 10odd as bus is here at 11am.

wow! 11am got to board the bus? how abt lunch then? does he/she eat anything after breakfast? the next meal time is recess @ 2.50pm

For sunday, she has CL S&D (same as what they offer to P2 next year). But as all my kids attend the same program but back to back schedule. we are there from 9.15 - 1.15pm. Followed by maths for 3 of them. So we are only free after 3.30pm.

what is CL S&D? is it storytelling and drama? Thks to Berries, my gal's HYPY foundation is not bad...but she speaks mandrain with funny accent plus she hates to converse in mandrain (self-conscious).. so i am wondering if need to take out extra CL enrichment courses to improve her mandrain speaking skills..

I heard that band is looking for P1 with music background. MBS school band has been havng gold with honours and it is a very reputable band and many years of good reputation. One which my kids are proud to be in. The band instructor is great. Imagine my pride when my hairdresser told me that wow... you must listen to MBS band, it really made him sit up. His son was from CH band and he heard MBS band played during SYF performance. My niece who is active in a sec school band told me alot of great stuff about MBS band too. So if your child is really keen, let her pursue and make sure she continues throughout. You never know if it brings about DSA value.

wow, thks for the insights abt MBS school band! I'll feel really proud if my gal can be part of the elite team!!! Wonder how they recruit newbies.. if they do selection then my gal chance will be slim, she only started piano abt 6mths...has yet to attend any professional exam so cannot be considered as \"qualified\" for music background...wonder whether school will arrange some orientation for CCA? maybe she can ownself decide...btw, since your elder two already in the MBS band, can share whether the kid get to choose the instrument they wanna play? My gal wanted to join band coz she want to play flute so many her interest may die if she cannot get to choose that...

Actually I heard alot of comments about band taking up alot of time,etc.... However I see how band works positively for my niece who just collected her \"O\" levels results today. I thought it's good for the kids to have passion for something they enjoy eg. if they enjoy band, let them be. Their teenage years are probably spend on band activities and studies. Rather than idling in some shopping malls?????
yeah, definitely agree with you...if someone got passion on something, they will enjoy and overcome any obstacles that come along...so i am sure they can cope despite the hectic schedule..
Thanks 7788 for your reply 😄

And I have another question may I know what is the difference between the wushu CCA and the wufang wushu enrichment. Any feedback

wushu cca means you are in the school team and can represent the school for competition. wushu enrichment is the same as enrichment classes whereby a child can pay some fee and join as an interest class. hth

Just to clarify, the Wushu CCA comprises two teams - the school team and the non-school team. Members of the former only meet once a week (Wed) for practice whereas the latter will meet twice a week (Wed & Fri). As chowon has pointed out, the school team members may be selected to represent the school to take part in inter-sch competitions.

Last understood is that wushu CCA is no longer offered to the lower primary, only the enrichment programme. not sure what is the case now.

The Wufang wushu enrichment programme is a paid programme and if I am not wrong is conducted in the evening after school (previously was Monday not sure about now). Coaches for the CCA are also from Wufang which is set up by Vincent Ng 翁清海. For the paid enrichment programme, guess they will impart more to a smaller group.
Hi,Chowon,
I am one of the primary 1 mums as well. As I also receievd this form and my son is very keen to join wushu, can I confirm that u mention for wushu cca , it is not applied to P1 anymore. Only for enrichment programe is available for P1. Juz wonder wat other cca is available for P1 as well?

bubbleberry9 - it’s best that you call the school and clarify directly with the wushu CCA teacher-in-charge. as for other CCAs offered to p1s, suggest you also call the school to check.

Not a P1 mummy here but as usual, I will dress my dd up in traditional Chinese clothing.

Usually more lower primary kids will come in traditional costume than the older upper primary kids who prefer to wear PE attire. My p3 boy told me he is going to wear traditional costume to school for the last cny this year and my p5 said he is going to wear just PE attire next Fri.

In my case, the P4 and p5 are going in PE attire as I can not find traditional costumes that fit them. My p1 is going in traditional costume.

Now that p3 to p4 won’t change class and also likewise for p5 to p6, i wonder if the teachers also remain the same for the two years? (hopefully not)
